    My goodness. Just changed from Crazycat to latest kernel drivers, I got Global TV and CHCH Hamilton. I don't know if that's what did it.

    Still no CityTV or CFTO, both off the tower. Any Toronto people here? Can you get CityTV or CFTO?

    Seems the tuner and TVHeadend are working, I now get all the signals that are UHF. Not really happy, I'm absolutely line of site and those 2 stations I think transmit via VHF over the air, but my Clearstream Max2 antenna is supposed to be UHF and VHF. So you may want to look elsewhere.

    I hope this thread will help someone setting up with the Haupaugge 955Q tuner.

    Hi All:

    Starting a new thread, I had issues before regarding buffering but I'm going to leave that for a while.

    I bought a brand new Hauppauge 955Q as the new Hauppauge WineTV dual tuner was giving me problems finding stations using TVHeadend. I should say here that I am 1 mile from the CN tower in Toronto where all these stations come from, and I have an expensive indoor/outdoor antenna sitting on my condo terrace looking right at the tower.

    Using the TVHeadend, nightly build 4.3-1906, with LE 9.2.6. Intel NUC, but same issue on a Pi3B+ and Pi4.

    After researching the 955Q stick, I made sure that the v4l-cx231xx-avcore-01.fw 4.3-1906 was installed in the firmware folder and the links were proper. See logs below.

    I used the Crazycat driver since that's what I've found elsewhere being recommended. I made sure the others were disabled.

    I started from scratch with TVHeadend, new tuner, new ATSC network, forced scan, 24 muxes found and 6 services (CBC, CBLFT, TVO) all off the CN Tower. But no CityTV, CTV, Global TV, all coming from the tower, and all with frequencies I checked from Crazycat's latest Github table here: dtv-scan-tables/ca-ON-Toronto at master · crazycat69/dtv-scan-tables · GitHub

    I've used 2 different tuners, both well supported according to threads here and elsewhere. I've used three different hardware devices. I've used 2 different antennas, one a flat panel Wineguard and the other a Clearstream.

    I have heard some say that EPG interferres with these Hauppauge tuners, so I disabled it in each mux.

    Some logging. In dmesg it shows the recommended firmware and some other stuff:

    Guys (and ladies), I have tried it all, and I can't seem to pull in signals. Is it Kodi? Is it TVHeadend? Please those of you who know this stuff, I have spent a lot of time and money on this, and would appreciate the help. I'm really frustrated.

    If someone is willing to find and help me implement the correct solution that gets me these channels, I would be certainly willing to donate $100 to any open source project you wish.

    Harry

    I've seen lots of posts such as this, including one closed here recently, that didn't solve my problem.

    Intel NUC with generic LE 9.2.6

    Harmony Elite, one of their hub based remotes

    Kodi activity uses TV, Microsoft MMC, Intel NUC and Sonos

    All controls work using the Android app Kore or a generic wireless keyboard, in other words C gives me the context menu on the keyboard when I, for example, highlight a movie and pressing C. All other keys, Guide, Info, Return, Back work.

    Just to get this out of the way, Long Pressing SELECT does not give me the context menu.

    Using another thread, I created my own remote.xml file in .storage/.kodi/userdata/keymaps/remote.xml as follows:

    <keymap>

    <global>

    <remote>

    <red>ContextMenu</red>

    </remote>

    </global>

    </keymap>

    On the Harmony, I get no response pressing the MENU key. I have checked the settings in the Harmony key mapping using the Harmony app, and made sure that the Menu key is set to Context.

    So where do I go next. By the way, I did install (and have no removed) the key mapping addon, and in the global navigation settings I tried to set the Menu key to Context as well, but it didn't work.

    New LE user. New Pi3B+. Using current version, LE9.2.6.

    It would be nice to know if my hardware is up to date so that I can eliminate old firmware if I have issues.

    I'm not sure if I have to run Raspbian to run rpi-update to keep my new PI up to date. In terms of the current version, here's what I have:

    # /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd version

    Apr 15 2020 11:44:24

    Copyright (c) 2012 Broadcom

    version 82f9bb929ce2186eb1824178c1ae82902ad6275c (clean) (release) (start_x)

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Can I boot from 128gb USB stick, LE 9.2.6, RP3B+ and run off that as well, without the SD card?

    I've read I can do it in Kodi, but it requires you putting the USB into host mode, and this is done by editing the /boot/config.txt file. As you know, there is no /boot folder in LE.

    For clarity, I'm not trying to run off an external SSD drive, just a USB memory stick like this Samsung USB 128gb model:

    Samsung FIT Plus 128GB USB 3.1 Flash Drive up to 300MB/s (MUF-128AB): Amazon.ca: Electronics

    Powered Hub coming amazon tomorrow. Will try both modes. Already used both UAB ports. Have a good antenna already, have a high-end RG6 4 shield cable, pointing at CN tower, about a mile away, from up 100 feet in a condo.

    How do you disable one tuner, other than through the tvh software which likely doesn't turn it off, it just doesn't use it?

    That's why I'm wondering if I have purchased a defective tuner. I would feel stupid buying another one and having the same thing happen, hence my post asking for one that everyone agrees just works.

    JO above talked about the the Si2151 as being a very compatible tuner, but I can't find it anywhere to buy.

    Quote

    Connecting through an USB hub with external power supply. Try connecting to both USB 3.0 / USB 2.0 ports. Try both bulk / isochronous transfer modes. Try disabling one tuner. Try another LE build (newest 9.80 nightly or an older 9.2.5 with CrazyCat drivers). And try all possible combinations... Yes it's a lot of testing to do but there should be a solution.

    First post to this thread but read through most of it. I have a PI4 with LE 9.2.6 and the stock Tvh addon, but getting issues with live TV. I would like to try the latest build.

    Am I correct in understanding that RPI4-service.tvheadend42.3-3-1906.zip is the file I should be downloading?

    And if so, do I just do a regular install from .zip file as I would with any other addon?

    So basically, after hours of searching online, and hours of helpful people here, I cannot find one ATSC USB tuner that will work with the PI4 and Libreelec. Pretty sad state of affairs. Not one!

    Reading here, there are caveats and drivers required for almost everything, and just because it works under Linux doesn't mean it will work under Libreelec.

    Linux TV USV tuners

    Surely there is someone out there who has a working solution with a configuration that is reasonably similar.

    The Silicon Labs is not a usb tuner stick. And the 1590/1595 is the one I have that I've been struggling with despite the amazing help I've been getting for two days.

    So what I'm looking for is one other stick, single or dual tuner, that is known to just work with a PI4 and Libreelec.
