you need 3 files on your SD card, the actual .zip from Demetris, factory update script and a recovery.img.

I found it easier to flash an old openelec that I knew flashed (even if WiFi didn't work 😉) then put Demetris update zip onto a USB flash drive and used kodi file manager to transfer it to storage/.update.

Tbh I have never flashed any of Demetris files only ever used the update tars.

Probably doesn't help you much lol

EDITED: you could try taking the factory update script and recovery.img from your android ROM put these 2 on The root of your SD card along with the correct zip from Demetris

well Demetris as usual everything is working rock solid for my needs on my TRMK1 (M8C) variant on your latest release and for this I thank you my friend

Many thanks and all the best

EDITED: maybe it would be worth adding into the OP about adding the .nocompat file along with the update tar to stop people from askimg. Well chances are people will still ask but if you put it right above the download link then there shouldn't be any excuses

I fully understand that but on the flip side of that same coin [WINKING FACE] imagine how long each Dev spends on a build! Demetris how long does it take to complie 1 image?
Now imagine answering the same question 100 times, 200 times or even 500 times! It can get very annoying and old very quickly.
Rather then reading page upon page you could try using the thread search function, type in there .nocompat and see if that yields any result's [WINKING FACE]

    All the best

Good morning all. I installed libreelec 8 to an older pc last night that has the following hardware
    Amd athlon 64 x2 6000+ @3ghz
    4gb ddr2 800mhz
    Amd hd5670 512mb GPU
Everything seemed to install fine but on boot I'm get greeted with....
a start job is running for xorg server
    And
dependency failed for fluxbox window manager
After googling it would appear my GPU is not supported? Is this correct as i know its not a modern card but it's not that bad surly?
If the card IS still supported can anyone offer any advice?

Many thanks and all the best

Hi klojum yes the revo does have hot key to boot menu but ideally was looking for a pop up selection window.
Hi vitorp07 yeah i read that and in the end went along those lines
I ended up installing both OS's to the 250gb HDD and left the 2tb as 2x 1tb storage drives. Once done easybcd did work and i now have it setup nicely.

Good morning all I'm looking for some advice, i have an Acer revo RL85 which has a 2tb hard drive which i have partitioned into 2x 1tb and installed windows 10 in "legacy" mode to one partition.
I've also installed a 250gb hard drive which i have installed libreelec to while the hard drive was in my laptop.
I'm trying to use easybcd to set up a boot selection screen but i keep getting it wrong and after the 4th time of breaking windows I figured I'd ask in here if anyone has successfully set this combination up?
What settings have you used in easybcd when entering libreelec?
Easybcd doesn't seem to see libreelec. Everything that's I've read relates to the 2 OS's being on the same hard drive

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks and all the best

I went from openelec 6 to Demetris build using the .Tar and placing it in storage/.update
As for Wifi from the way i understand the driver modules are "bundled" for want of a better word, into the kernal so if Demetris's build doesn't have the driver module then chances are it will not work unfortunately.
Worst case it won't take the update or it will but won't boot. My advice is upgrade to 17 from a fresh clean openelec, don't have any add-on's installed

Have you ever had the box running on an old openelec? If so can you find and flash that then update to Demetris libreelec? My M8c variant didn't want to flash from android to libreelec for some strange reason but i was able to flash and old openelec and then upgrade it from there.
Hope you get it sorted buddy

Hi Demetris for the last couple of days i have been messing about with bootloader's and logo.img (oh the joys) it's given me a new found grater respect for what you guys do!!
The reasons i started messing with bootloaders was to try and get my box to wake from suspend or i was kind of hoping the power button on my ir remote would put the box into standby and wake it up again, having the original bootloader didnt fix neither of these issues as wake from suspend still doesn't work and when i press the power button on remote i get the shut down menu window. Is this something i can fix or am i fighting a lost cause lol

Many thanks and all the best

Good evening all, I'm not exactly sure this will be in the right section, if not please accept my apologies. i was hoping someone could help me as I'm well and truly blagged after 2 days of messing about.

I have a M8c variant box that's about 3 years old which im running on Demetris libreelec 8. Reading through the thread it was advised to someone to try flash their stock bootloader, i figured I'd do the same and see if it helps with the wake from suspend and the led color, so here starts my fun!

Now i must probably mention i suffer from ocd related issues and so i have to have my stuff a setup just right. Sooooo i flashed my box back to android ROM that was made for the box by finless Bob over at freaktab, everything goes nicely! however included in bobs rom is his custom image (the very first image you see) i believe this to be named logo.img. Now i cant have bobs android boot logo at startup when running libreelec, it's not right.

To jump from android i flash openelec 6 By ipodtouchdudes image from freaktab, this includes a nice logo.img of a square amalogic quad core A9 s802 icon. Now normally about 50% of the times i flash it, it does NOT flash the logo.img but it does rarely, on the times it doesn't i have not logo at boot just a blank screen for about 15 seconds which i really don't like Sooooo i thought i know let's extract openelec replace the bootloader for the one from a bobs rom, sign it and flash it, I've flashed it about 40 times over that last 2 days back and forth android to openelec and the logo will not flash yet EVERY TIME bobs one does flash grrrrrr!

So i thought let's extract bobs android ROM and replace the logo.img, sign it and flash..... Guess what now there is NO logo screen on first boot but if you reboot his logo is back!?!?! Wtf?!?!?!

I then hit Google and after some research came across a thread (post 29 thread-200-page-2.html) where someone was told to use ssh and dd command. I followed the instructions and according to putty it was successful, reboot box and noooooo it wasn't, so thought maybe i need to mount flash first which i did the 2nd time, dd the logo.img again said was successful but after reboot not logo again.
Please can someone help all i want is to keep the original android bootloader, logo.img(if that's the right thing) from openelec and run Demetris libreelec, why am i finding it so hard. I'm really blagged as to why doing it over ssh. Using the DD command says it was successful yet wasn't?

Many thanks to all involved for taking time away for your loved ones to provide us with a seriously good firmware! It really is very much appreciated

Many thanks and all the best
