X96 Max s905x2 2gb RAM latest build boots ok no WIFI no LAN, Sound is OK (build 20190611)
Did you use the correct .dtb (-rmii version)?
LAN connects correctly here.

X96 Max 2G/16G 100Mb/s NIC 20190611 aarch64 image.
Not much has changed for my use-case --> Live TV viewing from a tvheadend server.
The server manages the tuners etc.. I wish to use this device as a 'client'.
I cannot view most live TV streamed from the tvheadend TV server.
When I 'view' live Terrestrial TV I get audio only ...... no video at all.
Strangely I get both video and audio for some of the Satellite DVB-S channels but not for others.
X96 Max 2G/16G 100Mb/s NIC 20190608 Tested both aarch64 and arm images.
I cannot view live TV streamed from tvheadend TV server.
When I play ".ts" videos or live TV I get audio only ...... no video at all.
So the problem I am meeting appears to relate to .ts files rather than live TV.
It would be good to know if anyone else can duplicate this problem.
Unfortunately there is no real difference in behaviour that I have noticed.
X96 Max 2G/16G 100Mb/s NIC 20190605 Aarch image presently.
Can anyone advise what I might be missing in order to get Live TV to work properly?
That is the future primary use for this box, hence my fixation.
Tvheadend server is running on another box on the LAN, so only tvheadend client is installed.
Do I need to get DVB drivers from somewhere for this to work?
Some of the Satellite (DVB-S) channels work correctly.
A lot of them have have sound but no video.
Broadcast DVB-T channels have sound and no video.
One DVB-T channel, generated in house using a HDMI>DVB-T Edision converter has both sound and video.
I am puzzled TBH.
I do not know where to look, so any help available would be appreciated.

Fresh install of
LibreELEC-AMLG12.aarch64-9.1-devel-20190601212344-a41fdf1-box.img.gz
The dtb directory had the required .dtb file included (rmii)
Notable difference when running is the extra Audio option to use HDMI audio.
The volume level is low requiring the amplification in the audio set up to be set to +10 or greater.
DVB-S continues to work and DVB-T gives no video, as previous image, with the strange exception of one channel which is provided by a HDMI>DVB-T converter.
It is great to see progress being made.
Thanks for the effort being put into this.
Did an update using
LibreELEC-AMLG12.aarch64-9.1-devel-20190531134548-a41fdf1-box.img.gz
2g/16G X96 Max 100Mb/s NIC
The DTB directory was re-named but no replacement directory was written.
So of course the .dtb file could not be found when it rebooted.
Having corrected this it booted well.
Wired NIC connects during boot.
Sound is working from the Default Analog setting, delivered over HDMI.
I have problems with live TV, both DVB-T and DVB-S.
Some DVB-S channels work while others do not.
None of my DVB-T channels work - I get sound but no video.
There is no means to install drivers that I have found.
I hope to not only try a fresh install of this but also a fresh install of the ARM image.
Great progress being made.
EDIT:
Did a fresh install using the ARM image.
On this fresh install most of the DVB-S channels seem to show the video while all I checked give audio.
None of the DVB-T channels show video.
I seems to me this needs relatively little to make it usable for 'ordinary' use.
Yes, I used the version "LibreELEC-AMLGX.aarch64-9.1-devel-20190526155114-a41fdf1-box.img.gz" with the dtb "meson-g12a-x96-max.dtb", which I entered in the *.ini file. Is all this correct?
That is not the image I linked to, here it is again.

I have the hardware X96 max with the S905x² in 4GB/32GB variant, LAN wired. Which file is running and which dtb?
Thank you very much!
CT
Have you tried an image from here?
https://yadi.sk/d/dhepyyrcterlf/leia-18/kernel_5.x/20190521/amlg12_s905x2
and specify the dtb in the .ini file.
I wish posters would include information that would be useful to others such as
image used
dtb used
ram/rom
NIC speed
In that way some comparison might be possible for others such as myself trying to figure out what might or might not work on my hardware.
Thanks.
The last images for 905x2 seem to be in folder
https://yadi.sk/d/dhepyyrcterlf/leia-18/kernel_5.x/220190521/amgl12_s905x2
with a 'rmii' dtb file provided separately for the 2G/16G 100Mb/s device (my device)
Is this correct?
Or is the implication correct, from some posts, that the AMGLX images should be used/tested on this device?
I am getting confused TBH ...
Found an error in the images 20190524 for s905\s905x, I removed from the site these versions of images.
Should I expect both sound and wired ethernet to work with the latest image on 905x2 X96 max 2G/16G 100Mb/s?
Is there a specific .dtb file for this device?
I noticed that in the latest version of the video on the S905X2 is displayed if you press the "O" button (display service information about the video being played) or if you move the mouse, that would display the time bar.
By the way, the sound works on chewitt image. In my image the sound does not work yet.
If you do anything that causes something else to be displayed on the screen then the video image is rendered.
As soon as the temporary display stops so does the main video.
For instance pressing the option for Teletext will provide the video until the Teletext is again cancelled.
Yes, as I posted earlier, the chewitt image has sound but not network.
I'm interested in the wired network.
The wired network came up fine and worked for streaming LiveTV from a Tvheadend server .....
nothing to do with the NIC, but the video disappears along with the graphic such as time line, stop buttons etc. along screen bottom.
try to version 2\16
This unblocked the Audio Selection, giving three options ......
Alsa: Default (G12A-X96-Max Analog)
Alsa:G12A-X96-Max Analog
Pulse: Default, Bluetooth Audio (PULSEAUDIO)
There is no HDMI option which is what I use.
I tried to get audio from A/V connection but failed ...... that might well be I did not have the correct connector, I am unsure.
So although I heard no audio, and could not get video to play, the above audio options were editable.
HTHs
dts = dtb .. but you answered the Q .. thanks
Sorry my mistake, I thought you meant to try with the default "dtb_name" in the uEnv.ini file which is a .dts and also with the 'max' dtb.
JohnBoyz I'm interested in whether this image: libreelec-amlg12.arm-9.1.0-sdcard.img.gz has working ethernet using the x96max dts (there is no rmii variant in the image). Sound should be working.
NB: Files will be removed in a couple of hours - I'm not about to start releasing images. And do not read anything into the version number, it simply ensures that some scripts I use have a static filename to target.
Initial try it did not boot CE ...... all I got was the X96 Max globe screen and there it stopped.
I will try a second write of the image.
EDIT:
No, image will not boot using .dts - I tried two SD cards and also tried cards in SD to USB adapter.
It will boot using x96-max.dtb and has sound but no network connection.
