You’ll probably find you’ll get zero support on that one. It’s on the banned list https://kodi.wiki/view/Official:Forum_rules/Banned_add-ons

What torrents are you using

3b+ running away here fine on latest LE11. I strongly suggest you try it first and make your own mind up as to what it can and cannot do. You’ll get little or no support on an old version like LE9 and you’ve the likes of Python 2x v Python 3x to contend with too.

I dont think thats a way forward for me; I use windows on a PC to encode DVDs and then transfer them to a LE media player by the TV over a local network, hence the reason for windows to access LE.
Handbrake for Linux. Will encode anything you throw at it. There’s nothing in Windows that can’t be quickly and reliably replicated in Linux when it comes to an HTPC setup. Honestly you should try it. Start with the Live USB I outlined above and you’ll see. All you need is a USB stick and you’re good to go.

I agree with you, I only use tvheadend with FTA channels, and we allow ourselves the license to record TV shows when we feel like it, although this is also not legal since ..., 2005?
Indeed and that’s why I’m finished with this one. I answered the original question. Go for a Sat>IP when it comes to LE.

You’re now asking questions beyond your original query. I’ve zero interest in E2 receivers, decryption(usually of the illegal variety) and anything that involves obtaining pay tv illegally.
I do suggest with your level of questions that you check other sources for those answers.
The only interest I have in live tv is purely fta. and the option I outlined above is probably the cheapest. I’ve just checked the price of the R1 and it’s come back at £239 v €80 for the Twin.

the thread about HDs not mounting looks very similar; I've not had the issue before 11.0.0. Not sure that ext4 will allow my windows PC to update the files on the LE machine; that is a prime requisit. I need to did deeper though to get a reliable solution. For some reason my PC doesnt want to format other that NTFS so I may need to search around for other free formatting utilities.
If you wanna format a hard disk for use in Linux, use Linux. Use Linux Live USB. Here’s the details. Once created you can boot it from your Windows PC’s USB port. Even better create a dual boot Windows PC with Linux on its own partition https://www.linuxliveusb.com/

If you read this post it will give you a general sense of what is going on here. Generally when it comes to file systems and formatting, Windows and Linux they don’t play well. ext HDs not mounted after 11.01 update
No doubt you’ll read some have had no issues with mixing the two but personally I believe it’s best resolving Linux issues with Linux based solutions.
Firstly look at what partitioning you use on your hard drive and consider using ext4 if you have not already done so. I tend to find that is the most suitable partitioning system to use with LE when it comes to hard disks.
Search the forum for more references to this and be guided by this accordingly. Unplugging a disk to attach it to a Windows system to make it readable again is hardly ideal, is it.

Maybe give a bit more detail on your LE setup. What hardware is it running on would be a good starting point.

Warning: My little experience with DIGIBIT Twin has been bad, there is no problem with SD channels and a single TV client, but on Hellas Sat 39ºE satellites it is unable to recognize some HD channels that DIGIBIT R1 recognizes without problems. Another alternative to consider is https://vboxcomm.com/product/vbox-a…-for-satellite/ (I have a XTi-3442 2xDVBT/T2 device working fine for almost ten years).
Digibit Twin here is faultless. SD,HD and UHD all coming through perfectly on Astra 28.2. I assume you have the latest firmware installed. The R1 is ridiculously expensive.
In fairness I gave one example of a Sat>IP tuner. Plenty of other alternatives out there. My point was where possible try avoid those DVBS USB dongles if you want to avoid trouble.

Hello,
I would like to replace my old Wetek play box. Can you please recommend DVB-S2 tuner which has good support? Is Sundtek SkyTV Dual 2x (DVB-S/S2/S2X) a good choice? Is it supported?
Wouldn’t recommend any of them for direct contact to your Wetek box. Get yourself a Sat>IP tuner. Saves all the heartache with broken drivers on every kernel upgrade.
Here’s an ideal choice. About €80 delivered
DIGIBIT Twin - TELESTAR-DIGITAL GmbH | digital TV, multimedia & moreSmall Sat-to-IP router to supply up to two clients with free-to-air HDTV- and radio channels of one satellite position via home network (LAN) and WLAN in…telestar.de -
The problem is not knowing where you are pulling your EPG from. Once that’s determined that will help to narrow down the problem. It definitely looks like your EPG is reporting GMT time. Are you using TVH built in EPG grabbers or an external EPG source. If using internal TVH grabbers which ones have you enabled.

anybody out there have any idea?
It might be worth your while posting logs. The general consensus is, no logs no problem.

The whole point of moving to the RPi4 was to simplify my rats nest of 2 x RPi3Bs (1 for TVHeadend sever and 1 as client/video playback) which meant extra extension leads, a mini hub for ethernet connection etc.
In that case a Sat>IP tuner with your RPI4 if you’re watching DVBS. If DVBT something like the HD Homerun Quattro. Both work very well with TVH.
You could of course repurpose an old casing from a satellite tuner, Mount everything inside the case and it would fit nicely in any living room.
