The "volume key not working randomely" issue is gone.
Mecool KI Pro suffering from the reboot issue was solved by changing the sd card (though same brand).
Everything seems to be quite stable now.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the report

Covered in one of my previous posts, it will be fixed in the next build.
question, when i use amazon prime, video is decoded in software and its slow, but on android video is decoded using hardware and plays super fast can this be fixed
This has been covered many times there is no hardware decoding for libwidevine (yet) it's not something that is likely to get address any time soon.
The next release will be on 1st January for those wondering however I need to agree it with afl1 as he is now collaborating on this build, I will try to provide changelogs for future releases as well, following on from this releases will probably be on a fortnightly basis as things are becoming more stable now.
Changes to follow in the next version...

is this build for S905X or S912?kindly answer?
Both but you have to chose the imagine that corresponds to your device
Hi adamg! It seems like MCE remote is not working in your builds. Tested with lirc in LE settings on/off makes no difference.
Mce remote i kszaq older build works
You have to install crazycat for MCE remote drivers.
I think afl1 has already merged it into the repository which we now share so when the next release is built it will be included. You can also build the releases yourself if you prefer not to wait, all changes are submitted on the fly rather than when a release is made public
this libreelec with kodi git 7b1ff23 is first kodi for android or libreelec that play tvheadend live tv without problems on my mecool m8s pro l now i need to find that version of kodi for android
You won't be able to unfortunately, you could maybe try the latest nightly release though.
I'm not sure but mine came from loverpi and they sent it from China via DHL and it only took 6 days to arrive and that was with Christmas and Boxing Day which are 2 non working days
I have Tanix TX3 mini with Wi-Fi chip sv6051p. Wi-Fi works with LibreELEC-S905.arm-adamg-1.0.8 and LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.90.10-K. With LibreELEC-S905.arm-adamg-1.1.0(and later builds)/LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.90.0 WiFi doesn't work any more.
I need more information, can you provide a copy of your dmesg
Mr.Brown your hostile post is as much garbage as you claim every device is, I'm a developer on the NV forums so I'm more than aware of what issues it does and does not have but and it is nowhere near as bad as you claim. The Shield is more than just a media player. it is more of a console, that is what it was originally designed for, it would be worth remembering that when you trash talk it.
As for your whole where did you claim nonsense... I never said you did but again you have your facts wrong on that one as well.
I would not advocate for any product because no single device is perfect but they all come pretty damn close and I would certainly not call any device garbage, this reminds me of the whole HD 192/24 audio that people come to expect from their devices, your expectations from cheap STB's is far too high, if you can afford to have a 4k capable NUC and it works then maybe you should stick to that than wasting your time with devices that will never meet your high expectations.
We are here to help and support people with Amlogic devices in this sub-forum, they meet the needs for the vast majority of people and posts like yours do nothing to encourage development or wider adoption of these devices.
Display MoreWell the A10X in the Apple 4K TV has around 2.5x single core performance and above 2x Multi Core performance compared to the Tegra X1 in the Shield TV (going by geekbench scores).
The Tegra X1 will be 3 years old soon. I mean it was a beast of a soc in the last 2.5 years, but its not the top dog any more compared to ATV 4K.
Only reason I got the Shield TV was the native 4K support for some Aps like Netflix, Youtube, Amazon etc.
Its not a great device for Kodi use, there are too many bugs, issues and limitations. It clearly wasnt meant to be a Video device but rather a Streaming console/casual android console. Its Video capabilities that are built into the SoC are very basic and nothing for Video enthusiasts. In particular the upscaling quality sucks and the deinterlacing quality is average at best.
The moment I buy a new 4K HDR TV, probably a higher end Sony, that has all these Apps onboard, I will have no need/use for the Shield any more.
Right now the best combo to cover almost all scenarios and needs would probably be ATV 4K and a Kaby Lake NUC.
To get back on topic though- Im using the Minix U9H with LE build from this thread on one of the older 1080p TVs. I thought it can convert HDR to SDR correctly, according to your thread in Kodi forum wrxtasy.
When I play a 4K Hevc HDR file on the U9-H connected to the 1080p TV, the colors appear to be correct (not washed out), however the image is too dark. The gamma level/contrast level is wrong. It results in black crush, the image is darkened too much.
Now I read in a change log from Minix that they fixed this issue with a Firmware update a while ago. I have the latest FW on the U9-H and still have this problem when using on an old 1080p tv.
I wonder if its a LE bug or a Bug in Minix FW still..
I don't know where you are getting your facts from? Koying is the developer of SPMC and the main release is still Jarvis so that would probably explain half your problems if that is what your using... as for him being the only developer working on the Shield that could not be more further from the truth.
I own both the Shield and the U9-H and even though it is 3 years old it still beats any other ARM SoC device hands down and I would choose it over the U9-H any day of the week, it can't be that bad as well otherwise Nintendo would not have chosen to put the very same SoC inside of the Switch, to say it is full of bugs and problems is absolutely ridiculous it's had more updates than most Android devices that are on the market. As for comparing to an Apple device, lol... good luck with getting Kodi on that.
The issue with HDR on AML has been covered so many times, it's not a 'LE bug' nor is it a 'bug' of any kind, it's is purely down to the way the Amlogic SoC handles HDR, it's not something that will be resolved.
Presents arrived from China this morning, support for LePotato will follow in the next release.
Hi Folks,
Jut trying this now to a SDCard. It boots up fine and runs through the partitioning etc, then says its rebooting.... But after the reboot I get the LibreElec Splash screen for a few seconds then a black screen for about 30s then it reboots.
I have the S905x 2Gb DTB image - should I try the 1gb or NAND versions?
You must use the DTB that corresponds with your device if not you will run into trouble.
yes, 3d is enabled in Confluence in the same way as with kszaq's 8.2.2.1 and Kodi 17.6.
my movies are recognized as 3D (correct symbol on the list) in Kodi 18, but when playing starts, my TV gets no 3D switching signal, movies are played with split screen (SBS or TAB). same movies, same libraries, same settings work on Kodi 17.6...
Unfortunately I don't have a 3D TV so I can't really help much, I don't even think it's a feature sold on new TV's now, the only thing I can think it may be is that something broke in the newer libamcodec that we are using or the feature is broke in Kodi but without a way to test I can't help sorry.
I see that autoupdate script is not active in this build.
And:
Temp readings are invalid...
Which device are you referring to?
It is active but not for S912, I haven't coded this in on the server end yet.
I do not want to bother you, but can you please explain shortly, why 3D-autoswitch does not work with your 8.90.0 but with kszaq's latest 8.2.2.1? are there some patches missing in your build? I just want to know, I'd there is a chance to see 3D-autoswitching in future releases...
thank you and have a nice day!
Have you turned 3d auto switching on in settings?
It's not a patch feature, please don't compare Krypton to Leia.
So that means my mecool m8s pro+ box with widevine level 1 has no advantage over any other S905X boxes?
No on Android it will just not in LibreELEC.
S912 devices are now supported thanks to the kind folks at Minix for sending me a U9-H
No dvb tuner working on LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.90.0.img
Tvheadend can't reconige the dvb tuner on kii pro
Did you install crazycat?
