TIL that this command returns the device tree for used by each device.

    Code
    cat /proc/device-tree/amlogic-dt-id

So I ran it on my mxq (le 9.2.6, dtech build, runs from rom) and it returned

    Code
    # cat /proc/device-tree/amlogic-dt-id
    m8b_m201_v1

and on my mxqpro4k (ce 9.2.7, official build, runs from sd card at the moment) and it returned

    Code
    # cat /proc/device-tree/amlogic-dt-id
    gxb_p200_1g

    Are they correct?

I just found the repo at up.legg.ga and I added it as custom channel 2, because test.libreelec.tv is custom channel 1.

And I noticed that in order for its images to show up, I have to set the update channel to lenightly-9.80. I thought it would show up when the update channel is set to libreelec-10.0, like the ones from test.libreelec.tv do, but no. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, is there a "priority" for the custom channels? E.g. will I get the same images if I put up.legg.ga as 1st and test.libreelec.tv as 2nd?

    I second to that^ :)

I decided to use the repo and let le do the updates through libreelec configuration > updates almost a week ago. And after that, there were no nighlies at all because there were no new commits in github. And now that nighlies are back, the json file is wrong and I had to manually upgrade again.

Well... it was working a week ago... I suppose. Because I found out about it when I did my last manual update.

I do know how to update manually (= download the update via wget inside the .update folder) and I have done so since I first started with the nightlies, but now I want to see how will it behave for the reason mentioned above (= the mismatch in the version number).

Also, the option in libreelec configuration > updates > available versions leads to what I say above with the 404 error.

As I am still waiting for releases.json to be renewed and include today's nightly upgrade (1da9953, after days with no new nightlies due to no new commits in github), I would like to report 2 things.

    1) For some reason and as seen on the screenshot, the update... mechanism thinks that the installed version is different/older than the one in the repo, although they are the same. That "10.0-" part at the front seems to mess things up.

    2) If I press yes there and allow the update, now that the forementioned file is no longer in the repo, no warning/error/notification pops up inside kodi to let the user know it failed. In the log however, the 404 error is clear

This is where I get the url of every new nightly build for x64 (the next morning) in order to manually update my existing installation. I have never noticed the releases.json folder file at the bottom though. Let me see what can be done... Brb.

    ---edit

It worked. I simply entered the url under custom channels and the nightly build was instantly shown under available versions. Since the installed version (20210503-83202cd) is the same as the one in the repo, I will wait and see what will it do tomorrow.

I finally tested it, now that my left arm half-works :P

Both wifi and hdmi cec work. However, as with the build for s805, wifi reception/connectivity is poor and that leads to issues.

At the spot where my tv is, 2 wireless networks are available: mine (on channel 11) and the neighbor's (on channel 3), both at ~50% quality. Both routers are the same and we both use the same isp (adsl connection for me, vdsl for him).

I can connect to either one, because I do know my neighbor's key (and he knows mine), so I can test stuff from his connection too.

When I connect to my wifi, I go back to my pc and connect to the box via ssh (putty 0.74 on linux). The connection is unstable and typing gets laggy in less than a minute, so I abort it and go back to the box to continue. On the box, when I try to install almost anything, e.g. a skin or an addon from the main repo, I always get the message that downloading failed after a while. And this happens on either wifi network! So far, I have only managed to install the "essential" addons, i.e. virtual.network-tools, virtual.system-tools, vfs.libarchive, vfs.rar, inputstream.adaptive and inputstream.rtmp. And even those, which are small in size, were installed after a few retries and their download time was too much for their size.

And all that with the wireless connection not dropping at all all that time. I can see the relevant info under system info and in le settings. I mention that because I did have some connection drops with le on the box with s805, that's why I decided to gift it to someone else.

The above does not happen with ce for s905 though. The wireless connection is stable as a rock, lag on ssh is minimal to non-existant and downloads/installations happen in normal times and have never timed out so far. Why?

    Is lshw ok?

    Code
    *-network:1
    description: Wireless interface
    physical id: 4
    logical name: wlan0
    serial: 3c:33:00:17:f4:a4
    capabilities: ethernet physical wireless
    configuration: broadcast=yes driver=rtl8189es driverversion=3.14.29 firmware=N/A ip=192.168.1.136 link=yes multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11bgn

I hope to test your new image today. I have my (minor) neurological issue since Thurdsay morning that limits my mobility.

I am interested in a working os with a recent (= as recent as possible) version of kodi. I don't care if its ce, le, jim-elec or anything similar. If you don't have the time for bug fixing etc, don't worry, I understand. And since the development of your images has stopped, please do not continue working on them just for me. I will find a way sooner or later :)

Here is the requested lsusb from ce. Don't ask me where the wifi card is :P

    Code
    # lsusb
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05e3:0608 Genesys Logic, Inc. Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Wifi is a major issue for me :P Hdmi cec seems to work on that one, installation on the rom does not (as you mentioned, I have not tested it and I am not willing to) so what else shall I test?

Ce on the 905 works as it should with no major issues, but I hesitate to install it on the rom.

On the s805, the wifi reception is poor where the tv is. Thus, I either can not install anything because downloads time out, or, when they don't, it takes minutes to download even small addons like rar/libarchive support. I can move it next to my router and have better reception, but with no tv I have no way to press buttons etc so as to do more. That's why I decided to donate it to my brother.
