i wouldnt worry about it i have an s905 and an s912
and tbh the s912 is fine just the same as the 905 in libreelec
kszaq has done a really good job
and on android its night and day better the s905 is a dog compared to the s912

I'm also a bit mystified by this - though I'm probably misunderstanding too. 720p movies seem to play fine for me.
I hope to have a reply soon, i'm interested in BB2 mecool s912 that seems to work fine even with wifi module.

it means that you can play videos only in 1080p or 4k resolution (not 720p or other values)?
It seems that MECOOL BB2 PRO has wifi chipset AP6255, maybe it could work out of the box.
Upscaling videos from fullhd to 4k generate a fine vision or stutters with 905x processors?
Jeffers OP is updated with every release. I still don't recommend S912 for LE.

There is no perfectly compatible 912 box
I was referring to wifi chip in particular.
A quick scan shows me the "MECOOL M8s PRO L" lacks spdif /optical.
BB2 has wifi antenna, so maybe reception is better, but I don't know if Libreelec wifi driver is available.
That would be the MECOOL-M8S-PRO-L. Don't forget the L.
So this is the right one to buy?

I have tx5 pro with this build, no one has bootloop problems keeping attached a hard disk (SSD) to one of two usb?
I've succesfully installed this build on TX5 pro, but I've random decrease of brightness on the menu, not in playing files.Furthermore a mp4 video with aac audio plays mute.
There is Chromium browser for Openelec/Librelelec
I mean with auto switch frame rate and audio hd passthrough, apart mini mx 1 gb ram 8gb sd?

1gb Ram & Poor Wifi have nothing to do with the chip.
S905 2gb memory is available and wifi 5ghz / ac on one of my s905 boxes is the fastest i have ever seen on
a media box under $60. This particular box has had no issues on LE .007 whereas 2 of my other boxes are experiencing wifi driver conflict with the new Kernel .006 +.
So far in this early development (s905)by kszaq and others it has been lightning progress in my opinion.
