    Hello,

I do have a Samsung 4K TV which is able to do the upscaling itself and Intel NUC8 i3 with Kodi.

Most of my videos are 1080p and I've observed some of them are 'soft' - therefore 2 questions:

    - should I setup in Kodi to max resolution which is 4k @ 30 Hz and let Kodi to do the upscaling? In this case, which settings/filter should I choose for crisp/sharp video ?

from photography I know that Bicubic is the best but isn't selected by default

    - or should I let the Kodi on 'auto resolution' and let the TV to do the upscaling?

    Thanks

If you have an Intel NUC 8 or 10, Make sure to configure the IR sensor in the BIOS to RC6 or XBOX. I have had better luck with RC6 as far as sensitivity and range of commands. I have used Windows Media Center remotes, Xbox remotes, and my harmony remote configured as a Windows Media Center remote.

    Good luck!!

I do have Intel NUC8 and indeed Intel is mentioning 100% compatibility with XBOX remote but didn't find yet in the BIOS this option. I will look again.

    Setup:

    Samsung TV Q70R

    Intel NUC8 i3

After several tries I managed to control the NUC using Samsung Remote - in the Samsung TV wizard - you have to choose Console/Game Box and then XBOX.

After the 3rd try the Samsung TV Remote has match the IR codes and everything work fine in Kodi.

    That's all!

    Hello,

I do have kind the same issue:

    - LibreELEC 9.2.2 official release

    - Intel NUC8i3BEH connected to Samsung TV which is connected by HDMI Arc to Soundbar

    - Allow pass-through is selected in Kodi - Audio Settings

    - without DSP Audio=disabled in BIOS I don't have Dolby output into my Soundbar (only PCM) so I have to disable it and it works then

However, DTS pass-through doesn't work not even with this settings disabled in BIOS.

    Is that normal?

escalade - thanks for your answer

Does the Docker add-on have any constraints regardless cpu, memory, disk/partitions, ports access?

As developer I want to use Docker for several home projects :)

    I'm torn between:

    Config 1:

SSD 1 - LibreELEC, SSD 2 (or partition 2) - run Docker addon of LibreELEC

    Config 2:

    SSD 1- LibreELEC

SSD 2 - full distro Linux

Additional question (hardware): does the XBox remote (supported by Intel NUC) work fine in LibreELEC?

It's kinda important that you know exactly what to expect from a computer AND its operating system.

So what other plans do you have in mind?

    1) Linux supports various audio methods. As long as your soundbar is not too "exotic", things should work(tm).

    2) LibreELEC can be used in multiple boot environments. I have a PC that multi-boots into Win10/Ubuntu/2xLibreELEC/other stuff. The Linux grub bootloader works best for me. Keeping OS'es on separate drives (SSDs) is best IMO because of making full disk images (e.g. Clonezilla).

    1) It was more like a hardware question here - as I don't see any optical output on Intel NUC or...there is a way ? - I do have a Bose Soundbar which accepts optical input or HDMI ARC

    2) There is a particular distro which works well with this i3, HD 650 graphics...?

    Hi guys,

My Intel NUC NUC8i3BEH (i3, HD 655) is about to arrive in few days.

As I want to use it for Kodi and other stuff I wonder which LibreELEC distro should I put it? Maybe someone already tested/installed succesfully a distro on this NUC....

    Also 2 additional questions:

Q1: there is a way to have optical out from NUC to my soundbar?

Q2: did LibreELEC supports dual boot?

I will have 2 SSDs on my NUC and initially I thought to install a Linux distro + Kodi in order to have access to Docker but then after I found LibreELEC - maybe to install into 1 SSD and Linux Distro on the other SSD

    Thanks
