    Just upgraded to 9.0.0 on an S905 device.

    Kodi is giving an error saying the Tvheadend HTSP Client addon isn't compatible with that version of Kodi.

    Addon version available and installed is 4.4.12.2

    Is there a new version of the Client addon or do I need to do something to get it to work?

    Thanks for the response.

    I'll have another look at my config and see if I've not quite got it setup 100%.

    There just seems to be an amount of flicker, more noticeable on straight lines and onscreen graphics that isn't there with my HP Chromebox (Intel Celeron 2955U).

    I totally understand the scaling won't be as high quality.

    Maybe I've been spoilt with the quality of the Chromebox output.

    What are the chances of improved deinterlacing on the S905/S905X boxes in future?

    Is it currently the best it will be?

    That is the only thing stopping me from using these boxes as my primary living room device is the deinterlacing not being as good as Intel motion adaptive/compensated deinterlacing for Live TV.

    I'll try and get some pictures/videos to describe better, but I'm having an issue on an S905X 1GB/8GB NAND install box.

    I had been using an older version but no idea what, went for a clean install of 8.0.2e and the issue appeared.

    When watching videos/PVR normally all is well, but when I go back so it's play in the background but I'm in the Kodi menus half of the screen is covered with a block and some fuzzy parts at times. Difficult to describe. Has anyone seen anything like this?

    I can confirm it is present on 8.0.2d but NOT in 8.2 test build - I'll move to that.

    Various people will no doubt comment accordingly, but I bought the cheapest S905 box at the time and recently the cheapest S905X box recently. Both 1GB/8GB and I'm more than happy with the performance.

    I'm using them on ethernet mostly and couldn't be happier.

    I've got a chromebox and have used RPi2 & 3.

    The S905 and S905X boxes I have are very close to Chromebox performance through menus and whilst video is playing. Much much quicker than the RPi.

    That's running off micro SD. It is even quicker running off internal nand memory.

    And you have the added benefit of H265 4K decoding. For £20-30 I really don't think you can go wrong with an S905(X) box thanks to the work of Kszaq

    Does CEC work with your TV? There is an option to put devices in standby when the screensaver starts.
    Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work with Black\Dim screensaver modes.

    My mistake, is DOES work with Black & Dim modes. :)

    This is pretty much what I do.

    I have the power button on my remote mapped to active the screensaver in remote.xml

    Code
    <keymap>
      <global>
        <remote>
          <power>ActivateScreensaver</power>
        </remote>
      </global>
    </keymap>

    Then in CEC settings I have the setting to turn off the TV when the screensaver is activated.

    Yes it does mate.

    @kszaq....just updated from previous development build to latest build via update folder for both my Nexbox A95X 1gb/8gb and also my Beelink Mini MXiii 2gb/16gb and all seems spot on. The pop and crackle is there, but you are already aware of this. Coffees coming up.

    cheers

    I upgraded and didn't hear any. I'll do some more testing.
