    Dear datrh

    Testing as bellow

    1. Connect Toshiba 2TB HDD and Toshiba 1TB 2.5" HDD = LibreELEC successfully boot-up

    2. Connect Toshiba 2TB HDD and WD 2TB 2.5" HDD = LibreELEC failed to boot-up

    2. Connect Toshiba 2TB HDD, upon successful LibreELEC boot-up

Then connect WD 2TB HDD = Kodi detected the HDD and able play video

Try reboot = LibreELEC failed to boot-up

    3. Connect WD 2TB HDD only = Licbreelec fail to boot-up

I have confirm that WD 2TB is working condition as i can use the HDD on Windows 10 Pro.

    Hi

    Not sure anyone experiences this.

    Currently i am using LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-LE9-Kodi_18.3.img.

Minix-X8H is running two HDD (Toshiba 2TB 3.5' HDD and Toshiba 1TB 2.5' HDD)

However, there is a issues with 1TB 2.5" HDD, thus i have replaced with WD My Passport 2TB 2.5" HDD formatted in NTFS format using Windows 10 Pro. Here is the result of troubleshooting

Base on the diagnostic above, i could more or less conclude that whenever WD 2TB HDD that causing the problem. Just couldn't figure out the issues.

May i know what could went wrong?

Potentially Minix (Hardware) or LibreELEC doesn't support the storage, previously i was running combined storage of 3TB.

    Seeking help, thank in advance.

    Klaver7

Spend two days to figure this, drove me crazy. Planning give myself a final shot before hammering the box. ;(

    1. I was successfully make Minix work on LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-LE9-Kodi_18.3.img. However, couldn't shutdown (it's known issues).

Now, i am working shutdown solution, step performed as following

    Step 1. Downloaded minix_x8_x8plus_x8_h_newbootloader_FW9.img (Size#858,701KB)

    Step 2. Downloaded X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2_NEWBOOT.img (Size#923,074KB)

Step 3. I was successfully burn minix_x8_x8plus_x8_h_newbootloader_FW9.img using USB Burning Tool.

Step 4. Reboot and loaded into Minix welcome screen.

Step 5. As per your expert advise, after that you will again have to hold the reset to break the bootlaoder again with the LibrElecec SD.

Question: LibrElecec SD refer to using X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2_NEWBOOT.img? If yes, my issues is this file unable to burn into SD using LibreELEC USB-SD Creator! / Rukus / any other SD software available market in Win7 64bit.

FYI, i have no issues burning LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-LE9-Kodi_18.3.img using USB Burning Tool as it's (.gz) format.

Question: May i confirm file with extension (.gz) meant to burn into SD using LibreELEC USB-SD Creator!?

Question:. May i confirm file with extension (.img) meant to use USB Burning Tool to flash direct to Minix?

Question: Step 5. As per your expert advise, after that you will again have to hold the reset to break the bootlaoder again with the LibrElecec SD. Do i need to perform this step as well, browse the SD and rename "boot_autoscript" to "boot.scr"?

    Just test for fun

    Scenario 1:

    1. Burn minix_x8_x8plus_x8_h_newbootloader_FW9.img using USB Burning Tool.

    2. Reboot and loaded into Minix welcome screen.

    3. Burn X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2_NEWBOOT.img using USB Burning Tool.

Result: Device not running at all - black screen, as expected.

    Scenario 2:

    1. Burn minix_x8_x8plus_x8_h_newbootloader_FW9.img using USB Burning Tool.

    2. Reboot and loaded into Minix welcome screen.

    3. Burn LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-LE9-Kodi_18.3.img LibreELEC USB-SD Creator!.

Result: Successfully installed, Loaded Kodi 18.3 operate as usual after adjust refresh rate. Only shutdown issues only

Literally, I am close to success, just stucked at creation of LibrElecec SD using X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2_NEWBOOT.img using LibreELEC USB-SD Creator! .

    Help! Help! Help!

Yes with the "Stock" ROM it is ! Now - "minix_x8_x8plus_x8_h_newbootloader_FW9" - firmware will give you proper shutdown, Just be patient after flashing and starting it back up > it can take a long time to boot up android as it has to build all the cache files etc. so be patient.

After that you will again have to hold the reset to break the bootlaoder again with the LibrElecec SD. :)

and btw dont freak out with a black screen during first startup Android, so be patient!

    Thank and Well noted.

    Downloaded 3 times of minix_x8_x8plus_x8_h_newbootloader_FW9 (Size#858,701KB)

    Downloaded 3 times X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2_NEWBOOT (Size#923,074KB)

Try burning using LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Win32 - received error as per screenshot.

**Got some info from SD creator failing with Windows 10

Try burning using Rufus = received error "Failed to scan image"

Managed burning image (minix_x8_x8plus_x8_h_newbootloader_FW9) using Burn_Card_Maker_V2.0.3 without error.

Boot the minix while holding reset switch for 5 -6 sec (the bootloader will be patched) (little hole on the back - paper-clip worx fine)

Confirm TV connected to Minix just black screen without any picture or indication for 1 hours. Am i at the right track?

    Thank you very much, Klaver7.

My Minix X8H make alive again with your clear guideline. Successfully installed LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-LE9-Kodi_18.3.img.

    - Adjust refresh rate to 50Mhz, box to resolve screen freeze issues

Wanna find out more about shutdown function behavior

    - When power button push on minix neo, choose shutdown from menu. -> minix shut-off TV (which is known behavior)

    - When i power on TV after 10 minutes, the shutdown screen remain.

    - Thus, i will need to unplug and plug power in order to power-up minix.

    Is this normal?

Did some reading on the forum, it mentioned to fix shutdown issues, reflash minix with minix_x8_x8plus_x8_h_newbootloader_FW9 or X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2_NEWBOOT.

What is the difference of both version?

Which one is running Kodi 18?

Hi, Owned Minix X8H running Minix Offical Firmware (KOT49H.20160324). Wanted to try LibreELEC 9.X with Kodi 18.

Attempt update using USB Burn Tool

    - Unable upgrade via USB Burn Tool, receive error "Parse burning image fail" while loading LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-LE9-Kodi_18.3.img.

    - Re-downlaod img and upgrade via USB Burn Tool, receive error "Parse burning image fail" while loading LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-LE9-Kodi_18.3.img.

    - Re-downlaod img and upgrade via USB Burn Tool, receive error "Parse burning image fail" while loading LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-LE9-Kodi_18.2.img

    Next, trying update using SD

    - Tried Update Bootloader - Not working for me - Burn the GZ img to a SD using LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Win32, Browse the SD and rename "boot_autoscript" to "boot.scr", Insert the SD in the minix and boot the minix while holding reset switch for 5 -6 sec (the bootloader will be patched)

Result: Boot into recovery mode, but not sure which to select such as apply update from ADB, apply update from ET and etc.

Burn the GZ img on 32GB SD

Result: LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Win32 created two partition 511MB and 32MB.

Both method doesn't seem happening for me. I believed i should have missed out some important step or confused with sequence.

My plan is to make the box with Kodi 18, prefer running on internal memory. instead of boot from SD.

Forgive me, i am newbie for Android. Need serious help here.||||||
