In my case i need the first one to connect directly to my TV.
The second one only für Passthrough Audio to my Receiver.
(No, i dont want to use ARC cause just DD and DTS)

Display MoreIf your AVR has HDMI 2.0 support but only supports HDCP 1.4 (and not HDCP 2.2) then that could mean it was one of the first gen UHD AVRs that had HDMI 1.4 inputs and outputs in hardware terms but that got very basic HDMI 2.0 support added (in the same way nVidia added HDMI 2.0 support to their HDMI 1.4 Graphics cards and Sony added HDMI 2.0 to existing HDMI 1.4 UHD TVs via a software upgrade)
The way they did this was to add support for just the 4:2:0 HDMI 2.0 mode for 2160p50 and 2160p60 modes - as HDMI 1.4b already supported 2160p23.976-30 at 8-bit in SDR using 4:4:4/RGB and 12-bit using 4:2:2 (though this mode may not have been supported).
Using the 4:2:0 subsampling introduced with HDMI 2.0 allowed HDMI 2.0 4:2:0 2160p50 and 60 modes to fit into the hardware restrictions of an HDMI 1.4b connection (i.e. you could add HDMI 2.0 basic compatibility using HDMI 1.4b hardware). AIUI this was 8-bit SDR only, and that may also have been true of the HDMI 1.4b 2160p30 and below support also supported. (i.e. you get UHD support at all frame rates in 8-bit, but you don't get HDR support as that would require 10 or 12-bit support - which may not be implemented)
The Pi 4B doesn't support 4:2:0 HDMI output as I understand it (as it would require both vertical and horizontal subsampling of chroma - and the Pi can only really do horizontal (?)
This may also mean your AVR is not HDR compatible ("passthrough" in AVRs isn't helpful in that regard)
The lack of HDCP 2.2 support is a strong suggestion that your AVR is one of those early HDMI 1.4 models that got a partial upgrade to HDMI 2.0 - though I may be wrong.

could be possible. It is a Denon X4100 Receiver.
HDR and HDCP are completely independent - RPi doesn't even have a certified trust path, so no widevine, HDCP etc.

my fault, i ask this not about Pi4. My AVR (Denon X4100) has HDMI 2.0 but only HDCP 1.4.
If i go from PI --> AVR --> TV i get no HDR.
If i go from PI --> TV i get HDR.
Is it not possible with HDCP 1.4 to get HDR?
I tried a HDCP Converter, but this doesnt work too. ![]()
Hias, the image that is tagged by its file on the above quote I just tried and I still don't have the hd audio formats ... although kodi on the TV has all the HD sudio formats (and the tagged build is the latest nightly build) any solutions?

One question to all: Doe anybody knows, whether HDR is only available with HDCP 2.2? Is HDR passthrough not possible with HDCP 1.4 ?
Because as i said i am kinda a begginer, i have the test hdr version that you created on 10th of february, what i must do to enable the hd formats? Whats the latest nightly build that included both Hdr and hd audio formats?

Take the last image for youre device.
These are "official" nightlies which include HDR and HD Audio Changes.
For enable HD Audioformat go to settings, set to expert level than you have options to enabe/disable HD Audio Passthrough.
The reason for skipping 1080 @ 25/29.97/30 is interlaced content which needs the "double" refresh rates to render (Kodi always outputs progressive) but there is no interlaced broadcast 4K media so you don't need to do the same thing. So whitelist whatver 4K modes are visible.

on my fullHD i add following resolutions to my whitelist:
1920x1080p - 23,98 Hz
1920x1080p - 50,00 Hz
1920x1080p - 60,00 Hz
Libreelec/Home Menu is 1920x1080p with 50 Hz.
All works fine.
Which resolutions should i add to whitelist with a 4k tv? Same like 1080p?
3840x2160p - 23,98 Hz ?
3840x2160p - 50,00 Hz ?
3840x2160p - 60,00 Hz ?
And is it worth to set the home menu to a 4k resolution?

Here's a new testbuild with HEVC decoding fixes: LibreELEC-RPi4.arm-9.80-devel-20210210171544-68ac68f.tar
Some HEVC files showed pixelation artefacts (decode errors) and the "Samsung Wonderland Two" demo from 4kmedia.org resulted in a hard crash because the decoder ran out of memory. The HEVC decoder now handles out-of-memory situations much more gracefully and we've increased the default CMA memory size to 512MB so the file can be properly decoded.

Display MoreJohnWayne111 just talked to RPi devs but you might not like the answer:
RPi4 doesn't have hardware support for HDR-to-SDR tonemapping, it might be possible to tweak things a bit but the result will always be off - either too dark or too light.
Simple solution: don't use HDR encodes if you don't have a HDR display.
You could also try to re-encode the HDR files on your PC, ffmpeg (and probably other encoders) should support that with tonemap filters (never used that myself though).

But, and really NO JOKE, my neighbour bought a 65 inch Sony Bravia and dont need his 55 inch model from 2017 (Sony Bravia).
This TV has 4k and HDR Support!
And the best - i get it today for nothing! LOOOOL ![]()
JohnWayne111 HDR to SDR tone-mapping is a completely different beast, purpose of these testbuilds is to check if true HDR output works fine.

Will there be with this new release a correct color representation?
Is there an option to get the correct color represntation with a Full HD Tv which has no HDR ?
Or is this not implemented yet? (just a question)
I test this build with my Full HD TV (Non HDR) cause i want to know if HDR files has correct color representation.

Tanks, but im confused. Reason:
Current plan is to release official Alphas for RPi4 along with the other Alpha builds.
RPi2/3 releases will probably follow later as there's a major issue in the video driver (screen going blank). Once that's fixed RPi2 alpha builds will follow.
