I received my 4gb pi4 today, it is working fine so far, no crash or something, so I think the 1gb model is too small or there is a memory leak problem

I ordered now the 4gb version... I will try again, I hope. It's a ram problem and the 1gb ist just not enough

Some more findings :
1.Tested my setup with 9.1.502 on a RPI 3B (with rpi2 dist) , no problem with picture viewing and no freezes so far.
I guess its indeed only problem with RPI4 dist.
2.When enabling debug logging the memory usage on the OSD drop much more when viewing to attached jpg on the RPI4.
On RPI4 it drops like 50-60mb and then goes back up (if its not get freezed).
On RPI3B same pictures drops like 5-15 mb and goes back up. (and no UI freeze so far)
Its indeed problem with certain jpg types which also cause problem with some thumb nails.
Let me know if anything else is needed.
Looks similar to my problem, the pi3b is working fine with the beta2 release, the pi4 not, but for me its from beginning with the pi4, after i put my advanced config on the pi and he loads the library with thumbnails he crashed sometimes after boot, or sometimes if iam navigate throug the menu
btw.. here is something about gpu mem in pi4

My problem is nearly the same, I saw in the debug info that only 300mb of 1gb is in use, after kodi is loading the thumbnails or I changed a state from unwatched to watched it uses 300-350mb and than freeze...

No I don't use it , My problem seem to be related to jpg proccessing which causes kodi to freeze/hang for few seconds/minutes form time to time or even crash.
Same here, if iam set a movie to "watched" state on the title menu this movie disappear from the main page than kodi hang for few minutes or crash and sometimes reboot

If you mean xem the crypto currency then no (though i don't see the the relation to the subject).
Since my problem happens on clean/new install it not related to any addon setup/install.

Try on clean install/without library and check if there is no freeze on clean install, i think your issue is related to mine :
That sounds like similar to mine problem, if I change a movie from unwatched to watched it freezes.... Looks like there is something with the picture things.... Are you using xem maybe?

Hi there, sometimes on cec adapter loaded, sometimes after i do something in the menu
i tried both hdmi ports and having the same problem.
if iam unplug network it is booting fine, i iam booting with network it freezes....
its a fresh install, just have an advanced config with simple mysql settings and hypersion is also installed...
if iam disable hyperion the problem still exist...
if iam disable the advanced settings the problem is gone.....
the problems is exist from the beginning with the pi4 and LE Alpha and Betas

Got the same Problem, after disable Hyperion is works fine, with Hyperion it freezes nearly instant in menu and I got the feeling I having a rainbow on d r u g s, this ambilight flickering was awesome 😂🌈🌈🌈
