Hi - i'm running Kodi in Libreelec from a micro SD on a Minix U9h. I seem to have a problem with an unstable picture and it seems only to happen when i'm using srt subtitles. Or possibly also when i bring up the navigation buttons - it's not so easy to tell but it looks that way. Sometimes it's quite subtle and other times an extremely noticeable jerkiness in the movements.

Does this make any sense or is my 'diagnosis' way off? Either way there's a definite problem and i'd be grateful for any help. Hope i've chosen the right forum! Thanks

Hi - i'm sure it's my fault, but how to solve the problem?

Edit - it was the wrong device tree file. I've loaded the map file i created and the .cfg file using CoreFTP. But when i enter ir-keytable -a /storage/.config/rc_maps.cfg -s rc0 in PuTTY to activate(?) i get "No such file or directory".

Help - please?

Nope - unfortunately uSB Keyboard does not work either.

I've read this thread over and over but i'm clearly missing something very basic. If the remote doesn't work, how do you get past the welcome screen so that you can enable SHH so that you can copy the required files on to the system so the remote does work? (USB mouse doesn't work either.)

Thanks for the reply, but why do you say that? Is it because it's a s905X or because it's a Magicsee Iron?

I've set up two other boxes without a keyboard. A T95M (S905) and a Minix U9-H (S912) and both of those sailed through the welcome screen, no problems. And i'm very non tech-savvy.

If there is another thread that might help i'd be very grateful for a link.

I tried unsuccessfully to install LE (LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.2.3.1.img.gz) from micro SD but that was because i had the wrong 1GB device tree (gxl_p212_1g.dtb).

When i realised my mistake and used gxl_p212_2g.dtb, the device (a brand new Magicsee Iron 2GB/16GB S905X) booted up fine from the SD and i thought i'd cracked it.

But the boot up only goes as far as the welcome screen and locks: none of the buttons on the remote has any effect and i cannot choose 'next' or do anything except pull the power cable.

I tried resetting to factory and then uninstalling and reinstalling Kodi but the same thing happens every time.

Help, please!

Thanks for the suggestion. I eventually found the 'enter' button performed the required function (brain was imploding). The great thing is that 5.1 audio seems to work perfectly in Kodi 16.1 under LibreELEC, so i'll stick for now at least until i find any more 'flaws'

Hi all - i've spent the last three days learning all i can about Android, Kodi and LibreELECT so that i can make use of a cheap T95M (1GB 8GB) that i've had knocking about for a while. Actually i even had to do a bit of soldering (!) but i managed to get it 99% working.

I'm only really looking to stream video from a usb HDD to the TV via a 5.1 receiver, but despite trying many "solutions" i could not get the 5.1 sound to work smoothly.

Anyway i updated Kodi from 16.(?) to 17 but that caused continual freezing and didn't seem to support DTS pass through so after a few hours i thought perhaps LE might be the answer.

After countless attempts i finally got LibreELEC-S905.arm-7.0.3.012l-temp_sensor_disabled up and running from a micro SD. But although it's based on Kodi 16.1, when playing a video, if i press the navigation(?) key on the remote i get a panel sliding in from the left. That is different from the previous Kodi that opened an overlay at the bottom of the screen which not only allowed FF RW etc, but also allowed synchronising of audio, subtitles etc. This is for me perhaps the best feature of the earlier Kodi, but none of these extra functions appears on the sliding panel.

I then uninstalled Kodi 17 under the android OS and installed 16.1 and although it's not exactly the same as the original version i had before, it does have the navigation feature i want.

The weird and frustrating thing is, i now have Kodi 16.1 (Git:c327c53) running under LibreElec which operates differently in this crucial way from Kodi 16.1 (Git:2016-04-24- c327c53) under Android!

So does anyone know if there is a version of LibreELEC that incorporates the feature i want (and preferably copes with surround sound)?
