Just thought to add the little description on how to install and use this add on.

First make sure which version of LE you are using, there are 3 versions at the download link. choosing the wrong version results in not working though

Start librelec rr (or your LE version)

Click on addons in the left menu.

In the upper left corner click on the box icon.

Choose install from zipfile.

Browse to where you put the makemkv zip file (this could be usb drive, harddisk or network drive)

Wait for it to install.

Start the add on at least once to update/install the key! (Click on Addons in the left menu, and click on makemkv, popup will inform you)

Reboot

Make sure in LE settings that for Blu-Ray the simple menu is selected, blu-ray menus often don't work. It is under player settings/disc

Insert a Blu-Ray disc and wait until the disc menu appears, but don't use this disc menu, it doesn't work!

Click on video/files and select the line with your blu-ray disc and click play if you have a remote, otherwise right click on that item and choose play. Do not use enter or ok on your remote, it won't work.

After this, if all goes well, there will be a list of found titles on the disc, sometimes only one but it can be multiple ones. if multiple choose the title with 800 in the title, or the longest title with the most chapters is usually a good starting point

This makemkv addon works on LE 9.0.1:

Remove old version first, install the addon and start it(Important!) to update the key, reboot

Try to play through the file menu, not the disc menu

Can i upload the compiled add-on makemkv somewhere so everybody who need it can download it?

Here in the forum i can upload only 1mb files (it is about 4,5mb)

I would like to share it,

there must be others who like to use it on a standard LE 9.0.1 To my knowledge it is the only working blu-ray solution for Linux so far.

Did you thought about opening a new thread specific for this add-on? We spoke about it before

In the package.mk in depend folder there is a sha256 code.

Did you make this hash code yourself, because it is not available on the makemkv download site?

There is a new version of makemkv out.

If you have the time, will you make a updated version?

My best guess is that it is still some kind of network failure.

I have no further clue what that could be

I checked the workaround from druu on asrock socket 1150 motherboard (igp onboard is used) and the stutter is still their, nothing changed.

My tv doesn't have 25hz modes so can't test that.

I'm wondering if it is related to the used codec rather than framerate?

I have a mkv made from a pal dvd and converted it to h264. If i play that file, to my eyes, there is no stutter while the video is still 25hz?

If i play a mkv made from a pal dvd as is (mpeg2 25hz), it stutters randomly

Can anyone test/confirm that?

If i play a blu-ray or dvd and want to select a external subtitle through browse for subtitle this works but is very slow.

In kodi 17.6 (windows) this was very fast.

I set the update process to manual and notification to on but LE never notified that there is a update?

I manually updated to 9.0.1 through the update channel

Any devs have a clue?

Or can reproduce this weird behavior?

Here is my log but i have to agree with the op that if you enable debugging the stutter is gone! Weird!

After i disabled logging the dvd starts to stutter again, so i have no clue.

ps i'm not trying hijacking this thread if anyone think in that direction, but it is a weird problem i would have thought i was the only one and did not report it jet.

The delay is intended, the message you have been noticed comes from the network not being up and running before libreelec starts

So Libreelec waits until network comes online.

You can set the waiting time but it doesn't bother me personally

I got the same problem and would have thought it was just in my case

It stutters randomly only with mpeg2 content at 25fps (dvd, mkv etc) if i pause the playback and resume the stutter is gone for a while

evil77 you need to provide full log files, otherwise the devs here can't help you

For the remote communication server failed message do this:

Go to settings/libreElec/network and enable wait for network to be online

Message will be gone after that
