Just to reduce confusion, we have basically everything from the former unofficial repo now at the LibreElec repo too.

CvH, are you saying the device I have does not have the newest chipset and that it is only the vid:pid that's different. Just trying to make sense of where we are compared with the other messages?
Not too sure, but at dmesg you can see that it loads an completely wrong module and therefore it doesn't start.

There was a production issue and batches of this stick have the same vid:pid as a 521e.
I guess we could workaround that, I asked the driver dev (if I remember correctly you just need some command at the autoexec.sh). This get properly fixed at the future but nothing that will happen in the next 1-2 weeks.

could you pls share an picture of the stick ? I would forward it to the Hauppauge dev to fix it
also an dmesg | paste from an 4.18 kernel would be helpful !
lsusb output would be nice too

did you tried this Mounting network shares [LibreELEC.wiki] ?

You can play 4kHDR but can't output the hdr itself afaik, because Linux is missing HDR at all at the moment. This get fixed sooner or later.
But as Intel is Intel you don't know what CPU classes could output HDR at all, they created a clusterfuck at the current Generation with changing the specs. So better be a bit patient

a well supported S905X box is (much) better than a own build x86 solution
Speed wise the cheapest nuc is already much faster then S905(x), driver/support wise x86 is also much better supported
currently the only downside that you have no HDR support, S905 has some hacky (it is no real 10bit HDR) support for it.
Pricewise you can't beat S905 ofc.

pls try an recent LibreELEC9 build
LibreELEC (Leia) v8.90.004 ALPHA – LibreELEC
if it is not working pls share another dmesg

Because I'm using Confluence skin.
the skin is outdated and likely not updated to the current features anymore, typical problem of outdated 3rd party skins
What do you mean about the above.
if you update LE you get whatever is at that version - you can't cherry pics programs/drivers/kodi version like you can do it at for example Ubuntu
its an complete os in one file
