Its not that easy, you need qt and nobody has an ready to use package that works with hyperion.ng besides ARM and qt is a gigantic time burner so nobody touched it at the moment.
Btw you could still use the python3 docker, that works everywhere and is easy to use.
Can I install FFMPEG addon in LE 9?
yes, we have the "ffmpeg-tools" addon that offers a full feature ffmpeg
I guess nobody would stop anyone in doing this. Likely nobody of "us" is doing it because we have "no" use case.
There is no Chrome for any ARM device at LE.
Also if you use it at RPi you have just the speed of an 8 year old cheap smartphone.

If you manually set the setting it still works. If you never touched the settings for some time it's likely working due that.

We don't have makemkv anywhere so we have no clue if it works or not.
Twrp is the android 3rd party recovery.
You can also use a 3rd party skin and hide the setting completely, done this for a friend that wife and kids don't kill it

Just install that addon and maybe reboot.
You don't need the tar files, just drop the img.gz into the update folder, they also work for updating.

You can play HDR stuff but you can't send it to the TV as HDR -> you get a wash out pic at the moment.
Currently there is NO HDR support at Linux, this is still in development for quite some time.
Does 9.0.0 require a fresh install or can I just add the file to the updates folder and reboot ?
you just need to update via LE-Settings Addon or put the Image file into the update folder

Till they are finished you can use the old one from downloads – LibreELEC and just update to LE9, results into the same version etc.
