some drivers needs to be improved and additional firmware needs to be loaded on A100 coprocessor. Also U-Boot and ATF modifications are needed. In short, GitHub - crust-firmware/crust: SCP firmware for sunxi SoCs needs to be integrated. Even then, only power button will work. For IR remote wake-up, crust FW needs to be extended... so it's possible, just a lot of work. Note - crust firmware works only with A64 and H6. For H3, U-Boot would need some non-trivial work.

Any updates/news? So, as I understand correctly, ac3/dts must be decoded on device?
I should remove that wip status. Development of that feature was abandoned for the time being. You might still have luck with your AVR/TV, depending how much it relies on metadata. BTW, what difference does it make to be decoded on device or AVR/TV?

FYI, A20 nightly images have initial version of HDMI audio support included.

If I use a Raspberry Pi TV HAT tuner on top of a Raspberry Pi Zero W board, is there a working Libreelec-TVheadend server solution for it? Or should I use Raspbian?
AFAIK only RPi4 is capable of smooth HEVC 10-bit decoding.

If you would use search, you would find this for Tanix TX6: Nightly images for A20, A64, H3 and H6 boards
-
Next nightly should have fixed access to addon repositories.
Here is also A20 test update with HDMI audio enabled. Please test. LibreELEC-A20.arm-9.80-devel-20200112192833-6c1fd7e.tar

ofc i does

http://LibreELEC.tv/options at master · LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
so you just need to activate it via some conf (sry forgot how it worked)
Sorry, I thought it was removed but is just disabled for all projects by default. Anyway, having swap on SD card doesn't make sense, eMMC is not much better (swap file points to $HOME/.cache/swapfile).

I just figured zram is a standard linux feature and I don't know of any reason for it to be excluded in LE builds (is there any?)
Is there any to be enabled? How it would be used? LE doesn't support swap memory and most memory is consumed by VPU driver in kernel, which rules out ZRAM.
BTW, no LE port has enabled ZRAM.

Ah, sorry, I mixed this up. Anyway, I fixed similar issue for H3 long time ago. Solution was to disable display driver in U-Boot. Just make sure you have image from recent LE code base and that U-Boot was also updated. Either by flashing full image or by using board specific update (tar file with board name in it).
-
This just means that HDMI driver couldn't read EDID correctly. That is typical issue for H6 boards, if board DT needs ddc-en-gpios property in connector node but none is provided.
-
Could you enable zram module for H3 nightly builds
That would mean making PR to LE Github master repository and merge it. I'm afraid workflow is different. PRs aren't merged just to test something. You should clone repo, make changes, build images locally and submit an PR.

filkint I never used it, so I don't know. If someone can prove that's all that is needed, then fine.

Digitalis One is not supported here because it has less than 1 GiB RAM and currently I don't have time to do memory optimizations.
lumpi now and then I do a new H5 build, but current issue is that Lima for some reason doesn't work well in combination of sun4i-drm driver (DE2 part) and Kodi. For example, Lima works with A20, which has DE1. Interestingly, Panfrost works with H6, which has DE3, and Kodi (DE3 uses mostly the same code as DE2). Someone would need to do thorough test Lima on A20, but last time I tried, it crashed in menu after a bit of playing. But Lima fixes are coming in every week, so I'm optimistic this will be sorted out soon.

Thanks, I'll take a look but not promises when. I thought I fixed all such issues, but I guess I missed a spot.

currently there is a bug in Kodi regarding addon repositories which should be solved soon: Nightly images where Addons?
-
Digitalis if you are talking about boot.scr and script.bin, then you probably working with old kernel (3.4) and OpenELEC, which isn't supported at all.
-
I'd like to test the update too. How do I install it?
That is already included in latest nightlies. Proper update folder is /storage/.update - you just put .tar or .img.gz file into it and restart. But be aware, do nice restart (via Kodi menu) otherwise you might corrupt filesystem or more specifically, update file.
