Sounds like the center channel doesn't work at some speaker settings. Try with pass-through on / off at audio settings.

Kodi does some overlays, like subtitles. You can use those EGL calls as an example for your own overlays.

Best practice for most users is a NAS, and give LE access to it. For those users LE isn't stable enough to be an always-on server.

Then you have to do all the work, because advertising will create your income, not mine. Sorry.

If you don't need Bluetooth, uninstall all Bluetooth related add-ons. Probably one of those hijacks your audio control.

Read here about logging. Post kodi.log as a link, and we'll have a look.

You still haven't explained your goal. Is it an LE fork, is it an add-on, why do you need it...? That's important to show you the right direction.

I've never used path substitution. Maybe it's a timing issue, and the RPi 4 still can't load SMB sources at the point of path substitution. You can try to stop / restart Kodi from autostart.sh, and hope that SMB will be available then.

The second HDMI port of the RPi 4 only works at dual-screen mode. There is no chance to use it for audio (we already had this question a couple of times). Buy an HDMI audio extractor and go optical from there.

Could be a competing DRM access issue between Kodi and your app. You can't run an app that ignores Kodi's DRM usage. You have to write a regular Kodi add-on. We have sub-forums for development and add-ons.

You can keymap mouse action to RC.

Please post a link to a complete kodi.log. Then we might see what goes wrong under the hood.

It should work at root mode. If your file manager doesn't support root mode, use sudo cp command at text console.

still got the problem 2 years later

Maybe it's time to post a kodi.log now...

-
You have been marked this thread as solved. Is this correct?

pila Makes sense now.

Hopefully we'll find the bug to make LE an always-on system one day. Feel free to post a kodi(.old).log (log level 2) when it hangs again.
