Never update from LE 9.x.x to LE 10.x.x. It's mentioned in the release notes. Fresh install is the way to go.

Maybe a bug. Moved to Bug Reports.
Please provide a full debug log.How to post a log (wiki)1. Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging2. Restart Kodi3. Replicate the problem4. Generate a log URL (do not post/upload logs to the forum)
use "Settings > LibreELEC > System > Paste system logs" or run "pastekodi" over SSH, then post the URL link -

Activate "Expert" mode on LE's video settings. Then you get options to adjust the screen size.

Maybe your network is too slow for HD audio. Play over USB to rule that out.

Install "Raspberry Pi OS" on another microSD, and use the settings of post #4. If you also get no audio there, I'm pretty sure your HAT is broken, and it's best to order a replacement / use your warranty.

My NAS averages at 10 MB\s read speed.
Read the CODEC specs. Add max. 4K video data rate and max. DTS (HD) audio data rate. Buffering is a workaround for some peaks, but all in all your NAS is too slow.

Use dtoverlay=hifiberry-amp.

What do I need to do to make it work? I see only ALSA HDMI and PULSE BT devices installed...
If the USB audio interface is supported by Linux, it will appear as a new output device on LE's audio settings. Just select it.

- Playing just DTS (rather than DTS-HD) still doesn't play smoothly
Did you also used direct USB (blue port) connection for this test?

It's just dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi.
-
- go to LE's audio settings and activate expert mode
- activate DTS inside the pass-through settings
