Update. I have managed to fix it. Basically I had to cancel the process my TV goes through to identify my rpi3 as a hdmi connected device (using the universal remote process) and then the remote magically works. That's several hours of my life I will never get back.

I know this thread a bit old but im having the same issue with my Samsung NU8000 TV and getting LibreELEC on my RPI3 to work with the TV remote. What device did you select when setting up via the universal method as there nothing like a RPi listed to select?

Thanks im not sure how i cancel the process the TV goes through when trying it identify the HDMI input though, i wish there was an option to stop the TV doing this altogether and just switch to the input straight away without trying to be smart and trying to identify the device connected to HDMI.

I did try OSMC as well to see if it was a issue with LibreELEC but gave the same results, so its either the TV or the RPi3 thats causing an issue

Yeah as said CEC is enabled already. I tried connecting the RPi3 directly to the TV and still no joy, i even try a fresh install of LibreELEC and that didnt help either

So for the past 2 years ive used a Raspberry PI device loaded with LibreELEC on my Pioneer AVR connected to my Sony TV and ive never had an issue using the Sony Remote to control LibreELEC!. I have recently got a Samsung NU8000 49" TV and for the life of me cannot get either the normal remote or the so called 'smart' remote of the Samsung to work with LibreELEC. I have my Raspberry Pi connected to the Pioneer AVR and then from the AVR to HDMI 4 (ARC) input on the Samsung TV and have made sure CEC is enabled on the Samsung

I have tried changed the "HDMI Port value/number" in Settings / System / Input on LibreELEC but that still hasnt fixed the issue.

Can anyone assist?

On a side note, how do i backup my film artwork and info for a fresh install, as i dont want to have to download all artwork and info for my films again?

Is there any chance to add the frontend Launchbox in the next release?, there a build for kodi now...

The shaders work but if you try and alter the shader setting 'Menu Shader parameters' it seems to cause RA to crash

Have noticed from a fresh install that Emulation Station starts up with no systems available, if your using a pad you cant setup your controller config if there an no systems available and have to hard power the system off. Is it possible in the next release to have at least 1 system configured already in Emulation Station?. Also i noticed RetroArch has a lot of pre installed cores and a few of them arent the best versions, ideally you would want....

Also when trying to edit shader settings via the shader menu, it still causes RetroArch to crash!, this doesnt happen on the offical release of RA

I have just copied my movies to my movie library so now they have nice pictures and info on each movie, but have noticed some movies are missing!. If i search the actual movies folder they are still in there but if i click on the 'Movies' tab on the home screen there are no where to be seen, i have looked in the context menu for the missing movies but cant see an option to manual add the to the movies library.

Im guess the format of the name of the file isnt to the liking of LibreElec and thats why it hasnt been added in the first place!?

Ah ok thanks escalade, im try to sort out the shader and overlay crashes im getting and trying to figure out which version of RA was installed with your build. Is there an easyway i can change the version of RA in your build to the 1.3.6 stable release from last month to see if that fixes the issues im having??

Yeah i know about that build, i dont think it uses the latest nightly version of RetroArch and uses the stable release from about 2 months ago

Is there anywhere that has nightly updates of RetroArch for Raspberry Pi devices??, i have looked on the main LibRetro site and they dont have nightly builds for ARM devices sadly, just wondered if there was any of sources to get build from?

Hmmm, anyone else getting an overlay issue on the latest build....

The main window says 'could not connect to repository'

Also the cursor around settings seems to have disapeared so you have no idea what settings you have selected!!?

escalade, what version of RetroArch do you use in your lasted build?, is it the stable 1.3.6 or latest nightly's?

Can anyone else report if there having issues with using Overlays, cant get them to show up after enabling them

Its not an issue with Retroarch as i have tried bite_your_idols Gamestarter add-on on a standard LibreElec install and dont have an issue with the shaders or overlays on his add-on.

What version of RetroArch are you using in your build?
