Yes, go with MINIX NEO U9-H.
Also it does not have an RF remote in the box.
It has only IR remote. The RF remote is a secondary seperate purcahse.

Thank you so much for this guide. I have 2 questions.
1- I want to make sure this is correct. When you use this guide you can only Power Off your device and not Power On if
you are not using your original remote, right? If I map everything to a Xbox One remote, I can never power on the device?
Is there any way?
2- I have Minix Neo U9-H + LibreELEC-S912.arm-8.2.4-Subtitles-ff. Using your guide, Microsoft MCE and Microsoft Xbox 360 (I add them to my Harmony Hub software, I actually don't have them) they do not register, only Microsoft Xbox One IR codes are received. Is this normal?
Next step is to use those codes to create a remote.conf file as you like.
So I decided to create remote.conf myself. Interestingly I added Microsoft MCE and Microsoft Xbox 360 and my box (LibreELEC-S912.arm-8.2.4-Subtitles-ff on Minix Neo U9-H.) can not read the IR commands. Only Microsoft Xbox One can be read. I added these remotes to my Logitech Harmony Hub.
So I extracted all the codes for Microsoft Xbox One as it is shown in my Harmony software. Here I share

Not sure if this will help, Create remote.conf from scratch remote.conf repository
NEO A3 is not an IR remote. It's a USB keyboard.
I have this remote Minix NEO A3. If I connected it to Windows - Kodi, I can change all keys with Add-on:Keymap Editor.
If I connect it to Minix NEO U9-H - LibreELEC 8.4, Add-on:Keymap Editor can not read all keys. For example does not read mic or settings key.
What can I do to read and change all keys?
At the moment I think Minix U9-H is the best for 4K HDR HEVC 10bit. But ultimately I will get an Intel NUC when it can support all that with hardware decoding. NUC has no optical out and with my LG OLED TV and audio drops with the TV Optical out, Minix U9-H might be better than Intel NUC for me.
After going round and round for a week or so I've just ordered a Minix U9-H with A3 remote after coming to the conclusion that it's the best option at the moment. Also GearBest currently has them on offer.
Am I right?
I'm also thinking that it's the best option except that I don't like A3. I can use other remotes. It's too big and bulky.
I also asked the same question several times here in the past few days with no answer. Out of the box it works with LE 9, not 8.
Do you have Harmony Hub? Add Microsoft Kodi as device. Turn Bluetooth on Neo on and pair with your Harmony Hub. Then you will have a lot of extra commands.
I am also interested in this. I have Minix Neo U9-H.
Optical audio out and headphone jack both work at the same time.
The headphone audio jack needs delay adjustment. Is it possible to have different delay on headphone jack only?
Ok this is strange. LibreELEC 8 has been out for ages and it's stable. Xbox One Remote is a main stream remote available everywhere.
Nobody knows how to make it work with LibreELEC 8? At least I imagine someone has a remote.conf file that I can use?
I can make a remote.conf file from zero but it takes time. I imagine a remote.conf already exists for this very popular remote.
Or even a Microsoft MCE remote. I will be happy to make one of these 2 remotes to work.
As mentioned, I'm using LibreELEC 8. Is that compatible with LibreELEC 8?
Lirc is enabled in LibreELEC menu. It does not work. Maybe the appropriate remote.conf file should be copied?
I have been searching this for 3 hours with no luck.
I have LibreELEC-S912.arm-8.2.4-Subtitles-ff installed on Minix Neo U9-H.
I want an Xbox One Remote to work with IR on this. I found a thread how to create a remote.conf from scratch but I imagine
for Xbox One Remote it should work or a remote.conf should already exists. I have also already read this with no success Infrared Remotes [LibreELEC.wiki]
I need a little more details for both replies.
1- frequenzy: How can you restore to default settings? I see nothing in the LibreELEC menus for that.
2- chewitt: If I boot into android and use a file explorer and delete /storage/.kodi and reboot to LibreELEC, that would be a new clean LibreELEC install?
I have a Minix Neo U9-H and I want to try and clean install LibreELEC a lot. Instead of ejecting the Micro SD card, is there a way to prepare the SD card without taking it out? Maybe through Android or something?
What happens if I put a full image in the Update folder of LibreELEC? Will it clean install after reboot?
