MeCool M8S Pro W
I am at 8.2, not 8.9, so the problem is not the same like the others.
I "solved" similar problem on another box (X92) by installing "script.advanced_power_menu-1.0.1"
From that addon if I choose "Reboot to LibreElec" it normally reboots to LibreElec on SD card. Choosing "Reboot to Android" from the addon, at first nothing happens, but if I then choose the option "Reboot to LibreElec" - then my box reboots to Android
Maybe it works for you...
Still the same. Looks like my device doesn't support this function....
I got a Mecool M8S PRO W. I am more than happy with the performance of the machine and LibreElec. I even managed to play a 4K H265 movie with no problems at all.
The only disadvantage is the fact that i cannot "reboot to internal". In another topic they told me that the internal memory is not supported, and that's why the command "reboottointernal" or "reboottonand" is not factional. If someone has a different opinion or a solution, please tell me.
Yes I mean TO internal...
StEwe Most probably your box has an unsupported/undetected NAND/eMMC chip and the script cannot write to u-boot env.
You can try using device trees with nand or slowmmc suffix and see if it helps.
I tried both nand and slowmmc, but both rebooted from SD. I suppose that there is no way to bot from internal, right? Any chance to create something for the s905w devices?
I am sorry but I am not very familiar with Linux, can you give me some instruction on how to check what you are saying? Thank you...
I am using version 8.2.3.1 at an s905w box. My problem is that when I am trying to reboot from internal with both ways (putty and shutdown button from kodi), the machine reboots at Libreelec. Any known reasons why?
From putty I get this
Cannot parse config file '/etc/fw_env.config': Invalid argument
Error: environment not initialized
