Since I upgraded to 8.90.5 there is crash/restart (not the box, but Kodi) very often after I finish some movie/series
Does anybody else noticed similar ?

could be a bad cable;)
I don't think so, cable is works fine with my Odroid C2
It's around 4 MB/s
edit: if i do the other way (copy file from the box to windows) its about 11+ MB/s
Now I attached my wifi stick and the file copy is ~9MB/s
and now I can play 4K HDR content properly
still don't know why my download speed (30 Mbit/s) is so slow on wired connection when my upload is ok (90+ Mbit/s)
maybe the driver has some bug ?
If you do a windows file copy of a big file from the windows pc to your box, at what speed dose windows copy the file?

905X using USB Gbit adapter -> PC WIN10pro
iperf -c 192.x.x.x -u -p 12345 -t 30 -b 250M
22.1 MBytes 185 Mbits/sec
Are You sure using Gbit network ?
I never mentioned that I using Gbit connection my box (Mecool M8S Pro+) only has a 100 Mbit interface, but that should be enough for all regular 4K content.
My main concern why I got only around 30 Mbit speed ?
We can agree that SMB is not the best contender, but as you can see the speed using FTP is similar and the iperf3 test also show that limit around 30 Mbit. Regarding that any suggestion ?
made some iperf3 test and it's seem that incoming connections are much more slower than the other way around.
and I've noticed the same when tested FTP using FileZilla Server when the speed was 3-4 MB/s which is ~24-32Mbit/s

Am I missing somthing her??? I have no problem playing 4k from windows sharer. I can even play the jellyfish demo at 140mbps 4k 10bit hdr.
I guess you have a 1 Gbit interface on your box otherwise the jelly demo wont be smooth on a 100 Mbit interface
Or move to an NAS system - cheap & easy to use
I have a 20TB storagespace setup on my dedicated windows 10 pro machine, so moving to freeNAS or Xpenology is not easy, beside I have a virtual instance of Xpenology, but sadly its not capable to reshare remote folder (windows share) via NFS.
Thanks for the feedback
Sadly FTP did not solved the issue, it was a bit better, but still not ok
I also tried to mount the remote share locally which improved further more, but unfortunately after a minute or two it's also went down to 1-2 fps
mount -t cifs //local-ip/media /storage/media -o username=xxxxx,password=yyyyyy
so I assume I don't have any other option than move to windows server 2016 and setup an NFS server
Hi,
I have a MECOOL M8S PRO+ and installed LibreELEC-S905.arm-adamg-1.0.8 (installed on internal storage not SD or USB)
everything is fine except when I try to play any 4K or 4K HDR content from my Windows 10 share (using wired connection)
it's start lagging and after few seconds (5) it's slows down to like 1-2 fps (HW acceleration enabled)
I attached an external HDD and tried some sample which all was fine.
Does anybody have the same experience ? Should I tweak somethiug or ... ?
For the record I have an Odroid C2 with Libreelec 8.2 and its play flawless the 4k content but it's lack ok HDR support.
Any suggestion would appreciated.
Thanks!
