It's not my build, I'm just using it.
Somebody backported the video quality improvements to LE 7.
I can't make side by side comparison but for me it looks the same quality.

I'm burned out from it all and I'm not the only one, it's ashame because when I started I was full of enthusiasm for LE on Amlogic but the forums and past issues with how LE is run has totally drained me to the point I don't want to carry on anymore and that is why I have asked for the thread to be closed.
Thank you for your huge work on LE! Maybe better to do something else now for a while...

AAC 2.0 Don't work on my KI pro(S905D), But it works on my Nexbox(S905X).
I tried AAC 5.1 and AAC 2.0 both worked on M8S II (which is S905X).
What was the passthrough problem with this version?

I'm having tons of problems with this release, to the point it's unusable.
Does anybody have a mirror for the 8.90.4 version (for s905x)? Would be much appreciated, since I can't seemingly find older releases anywhere.
I've just made a quick test.
AAC, DD, DD+, DTS, DTS HD, TrueHD, LPCM passthrough OK.
UHD BD plays fine except I have to wait 5-10 sec until the video starts.
Some of my 4k test files (for example 4K_HD.Club_Showreel-2013-100mbps) cannot play, there is no video signal on tv until I stop it blindly.
For daily use why don't you use LE 7 or LE 8?

My RT8153 adapter shows up as eth1 and my AX88179 adapter shows up as usbnet0.

Just trying to understand one thing: Is it Netflix the main reason for buying S912/S905 or any 4k capable box? If you buying a 4K box, you must have a 4K TV and I don't know any 4K TV in the market, which is not 'smart' and doesn't have a Netflix app. How hard is that using Netflix app on the TV? what am I actually missing here?
Yes, latest tvs have 4k youtube, netflix, amazon but they cannot play uhd bd from your network with HD audio, so I need a 4k box to watch those movies.

If you have the knowledge you can add the script yourself without having to make your own build and install to internal and if you can do that then I think you deserve to be able to run from internal
Sorry then I misunderstood you when I read you will do things to make your builds unable to run from emmc without build the whole thing from source.

We are talking about the new raspberry pi 3 B+. Your post is not relevant for that at all...
