    Hi,

    one additional result:

using exactly the same file (00023.m2ts from a dolby demonstration disk) on an USB-Drive, playing it from the bluRay Player, everything worked. from LibreElec (using a live version of 12.2.1) not.

I should test it on exactly the same HDMI input port but else, I would say, the Pioneer receiver is principally working fine with this TrueHD input.

So the root cause is either LibreElec or my NUC Hardware.

However, it is still strange that it worked on the old receiver, so perhaps the new one is somehow stricter to it's input signal. Can it be an issue that now it is HDCP 2.3 compliant while the old VSX-1131 was only HDCP2.2 ?

do you have any hint what could be done to get closer to the issue?

    Hi,

I switched the receiver fron a Pioneer VSX-1131 towards a Pioneer VSX-LX505 and I am facing now an issue.

Passtrough of Dolby TrueHD 7.1 is not working. The receiver identifes the auto as analogue stereo PCM and only some static noise /white noise is coming. So the stream is not recognised as valdid TrueHD audiostream.

disabling passtrough leads to a working PCM sound.

Passtrough of other sound quality (e.g. Dolby Digital 5.1) is working

Strange: Passtrough of Dolby TrueHD 7.1 is working on the old VSX-1131.

Therefore, I'm a bit annoyed because I don't know where to search the issue: in libreElec/Kodi, on the Hardware of my NUC or on the new Pioneer Reciever

    What I already tried out:

    • switching the HDMI cable
    • getting a TrueHD signal from a BluRay-Player to the Receiver --> worked

do you have some hints, how to proceed for finding the root cause?

    🔹 System Details:

    • Device: Intel NUC Kit NUC6CAYH - Arches Canyon with Intel Celeron J3455, therefore GPU Mesa Intel HD Graphics 500 (APL2)
    • AV Receiver: Pioneer VSX-LX505
    • LibreELEC Version: 11.0.3 (kernel: Linux 6.1.38)
    • Kodi Version: 20.2 (Nexus)
    • Audio Output: HDMI (ALSA)

Out of kodi-log, i do not find somthing strange. do you see some hints?

with tese, I got also some edid informations out of the LibreELEC installation. Are these from the connected receiver or are these those which the Intel NUC can do?

    cat /sys/class/drm/card0-DP-1/edid > /storage/.kodi/temp/edid.bin
    edid-decode /storage/.kodi/temp/edid.bin

This change was made in LE12: https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv/pull/8161 and backported to LE11 in https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv/pull/8180 before LE 11.0.4 was tagged/shipped.

According to the patch/change, using "Shutdown()" as the mapped button command should restore the previous behaviour.

Thanks for this thread and these informations

With my NUC6CAYH and a Harmony remote control, I was encountering the exact same problem.

However, I'm encountering it also with 11.0.5

So, should I assume that the current behaviour will stay? And the Keymap files will be needed for all future versions?

Or is there some hope that the old default will be available again?

    Thanks for your answer.

To be precise: it is not desired to use TV and Beamer at the same time as the Beamer screen is hiding the TV when activated.

xrandr commands in bash files sounds good, however I would like to be able to call these from the main KODI menu (respective skin).

And as you said, I'm still searching for a possibility to call these from keyboard shortcut or remote control button.

    Hi,

I'm using an intel NUC6CAYS connected to a Pioneer AV-Receiver which has 2 HDMI-Out (in fact a HDMI-Splitter). One is connected to a 4K TV, the other to a FullHD beamer.

The result is, that actually LibreElec boots always with 4K resolution. This is fine for using the TV but when I want to use the Beamer, I always have to switch to 1080p-Resolution as otherwise I do not get an image.

Also I cannot boot directly with the Beamer enabled as I first have to boot to the TV to select then the other resolution.

A workaround could be to select 1080p with xrandr in the autostart. However, then I would not use the 4K resolution on the TV any more, repective then I would always have to switch the resolution in LibreElec.

Does a simple possibility exists to switch between 2 favorite resolutions (4K and 1080p)? Best would be with e.g. a shortcut which I could trigger with my Harmony?

I could imagine that I'm not the only one having 2 displays with different resolutions connected with a HDMI-Splitter to KODI, so perhaps someone knows already a good solution?
