Interesting. Kinda what I'm looking for and it includes mem and a 128GB eMMC. Like that the RAM is included, would pass on the eMMC as i prefer to use M2 storage to not have that bottleneck.

So big thing that holds me back from getting a Gemini Lake box to replace my Vero 4k+ is that then I would NEED to use a v19 kodi build vs continuing to use V18. This is only an issue for me because of the python switch. I don't actually use many addon's except 1 is key for me, Artwork Beef. I know v18 and v19 technically can download extended artwork themselves but I haven't had a chance to see how well that works in the real world. I love my Aeon Nox skin and the eye candy so this is important to me. Can anyone chime in on their experience?

I can confirm that I get exactly the same as PlatypusW.

I was able to config my audio to pass-thru 100% properly.

I played a 720p x264 file no issue with video on screen and DTS audio.

I played a 2160p x265 file and got DTS:MA audio out of my speakers .. the TV transitioned into HDR10 mode .. but I got no picture, just black.

I will say though, progress on the tv switching into HDR10 mode .. woohoo.

Downloaded but too tired tonight to test it out. Prolly won't have time to try it out till this weekend. PlatypusW any luck?

Personal honesty .. comes down to is ARM based fast enough for your GUI experience. For me, no its not and thats why I can't wait for a proper x86 solution. Until then I use the Vero 4k+ on my main living room tv so that I can actually watch 4k HDR and I have my NUC connected to my non-4k tv in my bedroom and i'm WAITING until it will be ready for prime-time,

Regarding starting twice, my current setup will randomly not go into 2160p mode from 1080p mode requiring a restart so not a deal breaker.

Bigger issue for me would be lack of support of Artwork Beef. I know that starting in Kodi v18 the built-in scrapers can start doing extended artwork, just haven't experimented much how well that works.

It does state its HDMI 2.0.

When you say not ready for everyday use. What exactly are issues? I'm aware I would be running Alpha builds of kodi so I expect kinks but regarding decoding have you noticed any issues? I'm just tired of using the slow ass ARM based solution at this point.

noggin, any chance you could install the "CPU Benchmark" addon from the kodi repo and give it a whirl. I'm curious what your pystone score is so I have it for referance.

What device are you using?

In other threads I found out that newer NUC's have issues with newer builds of LE (and I think also RE). Changing a BIOS settings makes the audio work better ...

So were these patches suppose to enable Kaby lake or coffee lake? Or was it Gen9 graphics which technically is everything from Skylake to coffee Lake i believe.

Unfortunately no video while playing a 4k HDR flick. I can hear audio, AVR displays Dolby Atmos properly, but only get black screen. Hitting 'o' pulls up the stream info and decoder is set to prime.

So I get no audio on boot. Is there a reason you decided to go with PulseAudio instead of the stock ALSA like vanilla LibreELEC? Just like PlatypusW pointed out you just get a greyed out choice in Settings -> System -> Audio that says PulseAudio Bluetooth.

I do see that by default all my HW acceleration is enabled including Prime. I will attempt a video test but I can't guarantee a failed video is actually legit failed as i've had this issue on other builds that use Pulse that if the audio isn't working properly, video will not work properly.

EDIT: Yup, I get nothing when I try to play a video, but I don't consider this a failed test yet as I had similar issues play ANY content in RetroELEC that also uses PulseAudio instead of ALSA. I adjusted the kodi in it to use ALSA and video playback started working properly.
