Not sure if this is a libreelec or a kodi bug? I have libreelec 7.90.004 installed on a rpi3. All seems to be OK except for when I attempt to shutdown or reboot using a USB rpi remote. If I navigate to the home screen and select power options, it works as expected, HOWEVER if I use the red "power" button on the remote, it brings up the same "power options" splash BUT it is flashing on and off rapidly as if it's stuck in some sort of display loop. The functions "power off", "reboot", etc operate ok provided that the "enter" button on the remote is pressed when the window is visible, otherwise the "power options" window just disappears.

It's not a major bug, more of an annoyance.

This relates to Kodi user interface, right?
If so, best would be to submit your request directly to Kodi ;)

Not entirely, as this involved changing the NTP settings in libreelec. Also the timezone and locale settings are normally provided by the OS, so I had assumed this was LE related rather than a kodi issue.

Thanks for the advice though, I will bear this in mind for the future.

    Hi all.

I've just setup LE on my new rpi3. All seems OK except for the time display, which is showing the correct date but the time is 1 hour slow. I believe it is displaying utc rather than using the UK DST offset of +1 hour.

I have set Timeserver #1 to pool.ntp.org, enabled "wait for network before starting kodi", set appearance - international - region to UK (24h) and rebooted several times.

Is there some other setting I've overlooked, or is this a known issue with the rpi builds?

Sorry, mission aborted! Just found the "timezone country" setting which wasn't set to anything, so got overlooked. Would it not be better for this setting to be automatically set when the user select their region?

Have you tried a different HDMI Cable? Sounds silly but sometimes....

    Good luck!

I hadn't as I was using a brand new hdmi lead I bought a few years ago. Purchased a new hdmi lead and now I have audio. I'm guessing the old lead didn't support audio or was faulty. Funny how we sometimes overlook the obvious....

Hardware issue is now solved - the radeon 5450 was overheating as it is in an SFF case and there's no cooling fan on the heatsink. I've fitted an 80mm fan that blows over the gpu heatsink and haven't had any trouble since.

So that brings me back to my original problem - there is no audio through the hdmi output. The log files are attached in my previous posts.

If the drivers are loading ok, coulld it be an issue with the hdmi lead and/or the TV setup?

Hi, Sorry I didn't clarify. When I set "audio output device" to "ALSA: HDA ATI, @@@", there is no sound at all. If I then scroll down and enable pass through, "passthrough output device" remains greyed out, but IS set as "ALSA: HDA ATI, @@@". I have also tried all 3 options of "output configuration", but again there is no sound unless I reset to default settings (i.e. use the PC speaker).

I have installed LE on a HP DC7600 which has a Radeon 5450 graphics card fitted. The PC is connected to the TV via the HDMI output. Video output is fine, however the audio only comes from the PC speaker and not through the TV. The audio settings are set to default. I have tried various different settings to no avail.

    So my questions are:

    1. Is this graphics card supported for audio output?

    2. Do I need to reboot after changing settings?

Boot from the debian USB, create an MBR partition scheme on the HDD with two partitions labelled BOOT (512MB) and STORAGE (the remainder of the space). Format both as ext4 and install syslinux bootloader to BOOT. Copy the SYSTEM, KERNEL and extlinux.conf files to BOOT; edit extlinux.conf to use BOOT=LABEL=BOOT and DISK=LABEL=STORAGE .. and then reboot. Installing LE manually takes ~10 mins.

I've created a Ubuntu bootable USB and created the BOOT and STORAGE partitions using gParted but am now stuck on "install syslinux bootloader to BOOT". I have attempted to follow the syslinux manual installation here...
    Manual Installation - OpenELEC
    ...BUT when I run:

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install extlinux

I get a response saying that "package extlinux is not available" and is referred to by another package.

So HOW do I install syslinux to sda1 (BOOT)?

Like I said. Just try it, or don't. It worked for me. Linux live USB booted, Windows live USB won't without the boot menu. The machine does not care about the BIOS boot order when it comes to USB some USBs show as disk drives some don't.

I have tried all of the suggestions so far. Loading the boot menu (F9) key and selecting USB did not work on this PC. The BIOS can see the stick but is not seeing a bootable partition on it. The boot flags are set but this PC doesn't like the GPT partitioning system. It requires an MBR to boot.
