I have created a build vm using ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS (server)(x64)
After following the compile procedure and attempting to build 8.2.4 rp3 image the build failed and advised I needed to install texlive.
I installed texlive and the image completed the build with no errors. Should this requirement be on the wiki?
Now that I have built the standard 8.2.4 image I now want to build an image with a custom libcec that i have forked on github
I'm not sure how to replace the existing package with my package
Any pointers would be appreciated

Hi vpeter, when you get a chance could you make a build for 8.2.4 based on below
LibreELEC-RPi2.arm-8.2.2-libcec-1a8dc6c-commit-d9407d3.img.gz
thanks in advance

vpeter I was feeling bad to ask for a new build but see you have already done it. Awesome and very much appreciated. Will test now. Thanks once again

Hi vpeter, I have just updated to librelec 8.2.0.1 on rpi 3 and find the behaviour has reverted.
Are you able to compile 8.2.0.1 with the fix i previously applied to libcec or do i need to make change against different version?
GitHub - dbrosy/libcec at lgdev
libcec-d9407d3
also be curious to see if anyone else found the last fix work for them

vpeter, Just tested so far looking good. will test over next few days. your assistance is much appreciated

vpeter, I believe I have found the issue and have created the fix. Would you be able to build using this libcec
It is based on libcec-1a8dc6c since you mentioned the latest wasn't supported
GitHub - dbrosy/libcec at lgdev
libcec-d9407d3
thanks once again

vpeter, Thanks for the image. I tested and unfortunately I still have same issue
-
vpeter, would you by any chance have a build 8.1.2 with libcec-8adc786 or libcec-1a8dc6c?
libcec-8adc786 - looks to be latest
libcec-1a8dc6c - has a specific fix for lg tv
both are newer than the link you last sent me
thanks in advance
-
vpeter, do you have any suggestions on how I might get this fixed? or at least troubleshoot
-
chewitt thanks for the explanation, and yes It explains why libCEC doesn't get fixed very fast. in-kernel CEC sounds like a good idea
vpeter, I tried the image you pointed out but I still have the same issue.
If I set input to TV and turn it off then after 10 seconds turn TV on it remains on TV
If I set input to TV and turn it off than after 30 min turn TV on it switches to HDMI (RP2)
It looks like it is depends on how long the TV has been off as to whether it works or not

Running libreelec 8.1.2 and still having the issue with input being switched to rpi2
This issue has been around for long time. Is there a plan to include a fix in 8.2
found a reference to it here:
