rtl8812au wifi dongle on RPi 3

did the trick.
Limits the wifi to N instead of AC but seems to be more stable as far as I can tell from the testing I have done so far.
The same behavior appears when using osmc.
leading to the conclusion that is not a libreelec problem.

I read that the Edimax EW-7811UTC should work ootb with LE 8.2.1on a Rpi3
Indeed it connects but as the title says it freezes- during playback or during browsing the Menu.

The router used is a Asus DSL 68U.
The 5ghz wifi is configured on 80mhz, channel 48 if that matters.
Are there any good sticks with a different chipset out I could try?
The Edimax EW-7811UTC uses a Realtek chipset.

I tried to get 5ghz Wifi working on a Pi3 with the latest LE 8.1.2
The adapter is recognized and will connect to the 5ghz network but the system will freeze after 2-3 minutes while playing a file.
The network is a 5ghz ac network on channel 40.
Another edimax adapter on 2,4ghz is working fine so far.
Anybody with the same problem and a possible solution?

Hope this is the right section
Currently i am using a Raspi 3 with a Wifi Antenna in the 2,4 ghz network.
The Raspi is on the edge, especially bluray isos which i had ripped won't play.
I thought i could give the Odroid C2 a Try.
Does Libreelec recognize the Wifi Module 5 which is sold separately?
