I can sort of see where you're coming from but how is going down that route any better than continuing to use a wireless keyboard and having a separate remote for the TV?

I'm reaching the point where I read "Argon case" and some combination of audio/video problem and I skip ahead to the next thread.

Can you tell me why? Are you suggesting that if I replace the Argon case it will solve my FF & rewind problem or that they've screwed up in moving the HDMI ports to the back and that is preventing my remote being recognised?

Get a flirc USB device and use any remote you like. You won't regret it.

OK I looked on Amazon and its c£30. Will replacing the wireless keyboard with one of these resolve my FF & rewind problem?

FF & rewind controlled via wireless keybord works perfectly on a USB memory stick, but doesn't work correctly on USB HDD. Can this be attributed to the Argon since the USB ports aren't rewired? I'm quite willing to take the RPi4 out of the Argon case but if I do and want to put it back I'll need to buy some thermal strip which means waiting for it to be delivered so I'm trying to avoid it if not necessary.

Just tested the latest nightly - same problems. Wether it helps or not I don't know but when I press F the position bar (don't know what else to call it) and speed counter are shown at the top of the screen not the bottom, and the extra bits (eg information) are not shown at all. Sometimes pressing P or space seems to move the bar to the bottom and display the additional icons

Can anyone throw me a lifeline? I've now tried

It seems to be that I can get sound through HDMI or the FF & rewind working but not both and in none of them does the TV remote work.

I've adjusted what settings I can see that I think might help but without beneficial effect.

I'm beginning to feel that I should just bin c£100 worth of kit and go back to RPi3 which worked. I'm hoping that there are people out there with a full working setup. If so can you please let me know what version I should burn to the micro SD card.

I'm trying to set up my new RPi4 with LE10 and Kodi and having lots of difficulty. The current configuration is:

    RPi4

Argone One case (not downloaded and set up their app yet)

600GB USB 3.0 HDD (the final configuration will be a 6TB HDD)

    Logitec wireless keyboard/mouse combo

I have tried both with LibreELEC-RPi4.arm-10.0.0.img.gz and LibreELEC-RPi4.arm-11.0-nightly-20211002-c373397.img.gz

The major problem is fast forward and rewind not working. If I FF a few minutes and press P the screen freezes. X will work to exit but that's it. If I hit space to pause it and then P it will, sometimes, resume playing correctly. I tried unhooking the 6TB drive off my current RPi3/Kodi (where it works fine) plugging into the RPi4 to see if I needed a powered drive but the results were the same. I also tried a USB memory stick (16GB) and that works impeccably. Not sure I can afford (or find) a 6TB SSD.

Is there a setting somewhere that might help?

Just discovered that the Panasonic TV remote will not control Kodi at all on the RPi4

    Thanks for that.

Currently I'm just trying to get sound via the HDMI cable - I found a setting that generates sound through the headphone jack but not HDMI - OK for testing on a monitor but not much use for a TV :(

Something I did, not sure what but I'd really like to know, seems to have worked and I now have sound from the HDMI cable to the TV.

I'm trying to put together a RPi4, Haupagge WinTV-DualHD tuner to replace my current setup of an RPi3 running LibreElec /Kodi and an RPi3 with TVHat running LibreElec & TVHeadend (OK I know KODI is there as well). The idea is to go from two machines to one. I've been having difficulty with v10 of LibreElec some freezing and no audio. I've just downloaded v9.2.8 LibreElec to try. I had v4.3 TVHeadend server and 4.2 client.

Does anyone have suggestions for a known working setup?

ps I'm good with Windows but not Linux so if I need to download / run commands please remember newbie here.

    Thanks for the responses

I tried changing all the bits I had spares for, the connector between the TVHat and the antenna's coax isn't one of those. I've ended up blaming it because I've eliminated (I think) the other options. Things work fine as long as the Pi isn't disturbed so I may source another connector if I don't go down the RPi4 route. If I go that way I'll probably go for a Hauppage dual tuner.

"why that ?" - because it was suggested I start reading the source headers

"your are more on the safer side if you buy elder hardware" - that is a very good point, and one I hadn't really thought about.

"Also the thing with the price is you have to remember you'll probably never need to buy one again, so there's that. :)" - you obviously didn't realise I'm a Yorkshireman living in Scotland so I have a double helping of hating to spend money.

    Good point though.

I appreciate that people here are volunteers but whilst I have umpteen years Windows experience I have virtually zero Linux knowledge and I would prefer not to have to learn yet another programming language just to find which bits of hardware are currently supported. On the other hand its possible I may be misunderstanding your recommendation.

Thanks, that give me some useful information. I've had a look on Amazon and my wallet is cringing <G> I also tried contacting Haupagge and was told to ask elsewhere.

Thanks. I already have a TV Hat and I want to replace it since the antenna connection is very sensitive to minor disturbance.

Currently I have 2 RP3s. Both running LibreElec & Kodi. One is just for viewing films stored on a 6TB USB drive and the other has TVHeadend and a TVHat. The pair ran really well until I installed a laptop cooling fan which needed me to move the RPis. Ultimately I trace the trouble I was having with recording on the sensitivity of the connection to the TVHat PCB - the smallest nudge can cause signal loss which requires much messing before recording again works.

I've found this (DVB-T2 USB Devices - LinuxTVWiki) but its 6 years old and I know the Hauppauge line will work with RPi just wondering if there are any others that people would recommend.

I'm having to reinstall LibreElec & TVHeadend on an RPi3 (TVHeadend went weird and decided not to end recordings) - no problem. I decided that to make life easier for myself I'd create a clone of the Micro SD card so if it happened again it would be a simple swap. I'm using 64GB Micro SD cards because recordings get stored on there as well (I had a lot of problems when I tried to use an SSD in a USB slot).

Long story shortened: I ended up thinking to use a live Clonezilla USB stick in my laptop running Linux Mint. This laptop has 64GB disk so I have 3 64GB disks and a 32GB disk to choose from. How, with the cryptic identification Clonezilla gives each how can I select the source & target from the three possibles (I can thankfully eliminate the 32GB memory stick).
