Hi all,
i'm trying to run emulationstation (ES) in LibreElec 9.2, but it crashes
Before it's installed a previous version at RPi2 with LibreElec 8 (kodi 17).
I try to do new installation of retroarch and emulationstation, retroarch with previous version works and then i upgrade it to latest version.
But "ES", i try to install it from scratch and install it copying previous version folders, without results (not working)
The emulationstation.log has
EmulationStation [ADDON] :: Tue Mar 17 18:15:33 CET 2020
============================================================
EmulationStation [ADDON] :: Kodi is ready.
EmulationStation [ADDON] :: RPi2.arm-9.2.1 - Tue Mar 17 18:15:42 CET 2020
EmulationStation [ADDON] :: Stop kodi...
EmulationStation [ADDON] :: Launch EmulationStation (See process output in emulationstation_debug.log)
EmulationStation [ADDON] :: Restart kodi...
And the emulationstation_debug.log has
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
what(): locale::facet::_S_create_c_locale name not valid
Aborted
By terminal, locale shows
RPi2:~ # locale

LC_MONETARY="POSIX"

i don't find the solution ..
Someone know how to solve this problem?
Thanks
First, install the linuxserver repo from libreelec repo under addon repositories. Then from the linuxserver repo, install portainer. It will take a minute for it to enable the docker service, and then download the portainer image and create the container (if it is the first time installing the docker service, reboot for good measure)
in a web browser, go to your libreelec box's ip and port 9000, you should see the portainer gui. Then follow the below steps to create a pihole container:
Code Display More1. In portainer, go to containers and hit add container 2. Put in a name ie. "pihole" 3. The image should be "diginc/pi-hole" for x86 and "diginc/pi-hole:arm" for arm 4. Click on +map port three times, first one should be 80 and 80, the second 53 and 53 and tcp, and the third should be 53 and 53 and udp 5. At the bottom, hit "environment variables to add the variables from here: https://github.com/diginc/docker-pi-hole#environment-variables such as the variable name is "ServerIP" and the value is 192.168.1.XX 6. On the host, create a blank file "/var/log/pihole.log" 7. In portainer hit the "Volumes" tab and create two new volumes mappings 8. Check the "path" box on both and enter the following "/var/log/pihole.log" on the left and the same on the right (that will map the file on the host to the file in the container) 9. In the second one, enter a folder path of your choosing on the left side and on the right enter "/etc/pihole" (this will map the host folder to the config folder in the container and make the settings files persistent) 10. Now you can select the restart policy at the top and hit create. It will take a bit for it to download and extract the images and then will create the container
A LOT OF THANKS aptalca!!
I'll try it!!
You help me a lot!
escalade, i only want if you could resolve my doubt about Docker, if it's integrated in your build..
You mention it on the first post, and i doubt about it.
Only i would know if it's possible and if you would to help me with this.
Another time..
Thanks for your build.

Did you have thought to include "pi-hole" in your build?
Hi escalade,
when i did this question, you suggested me to run pi-hole on Docker.
I'm a totaly noob with Docker
Is Docker in your build? or i need to "install" it?
I know that there is a Docker Addon from Kodi.. but if you tell me that Docker is compiled in your build...
Then, how i should to do to run Pi-Hole under Docker?
I'm looking for a Docker's Pi-hole and i've found this:
pi-hole
Could you help me in this?
Thank's

Does anyone else think that in kodi it takes a long time to go from one menu to another?
Or it's only at me?

Thanks escalade!
But, i have some friends who touch things that they don't have to touch...
And i prefer to know what happen if they touch...
escalade...
a noob question
if i update "libreelec" from "Libreelec configuration" (Select "update channel" -> Libreelec 8.0) and (Available versions -> Libreelec 8.0.0), does it broke any thing, such as emulationstation or other?
or how i could update kodi versions?
Hi escalade,
i've been testing your builds and they are great!!
Now i've looked that it has "OpenVPN server"?
How it works? or how i could made a VPN key?
If i have NOIp account, could i use it whith VPN settings?
Here's how I do it: emu-shortcuts.patch
Thanks!!!

Is there any way to install or compile your build to run it on a x86 plattform?

Thanks again escalade!!
I've downloaded your last build 20160715, and transmission, sonarr & sabnzdb are enabled.
Now i wish to add "couchpotato" and "headphones", for movies and music.
How i have to do to activate them?
Only " systemctl enable" and "systemctl start" the services "couchpotato" and "headphones"?
or i need to do something else?
Thanks,
I'll see later
Please
Integrate Sickrage (or Sickbread), Couchpotato, and Headphones instead!!
Then you will have a perfect build!!
XD

I'm testing your last build. 20160711
I have a XBOX 360 wired controller that not working in "emulationstation" menu (i need to use a remote keyboard "Rii mini")
With retroarch, it works ok, and in kodi menu else.
When i enter to "emulationstation" menu, i can't use xbox controller, but if i select a game (with keyboard), xbox controller works in the game..
Other question is :
what keys (from keyboard) are functional in emulationstation menu? (for menu, select, options...)
select, i think it's "ENTER"; and arrows are for move, but if i want to enter at the option menu?
(i've tested all keys without result)
I'm expecting your answer.
Meanwhile, I will continue testing configurations.
Thanks again escalade !!!
