No etehernet means that you should try q201 device trees.
-
Yes. It is a good thing to have only if your box is not connected to the internet. If it is, you won't miss it.

I've read OP's warning so I've been telling them no but I read the buying guide post and it says the issues were fixed.
The issues are still present but there are workarounds that make S912 work much better. My recommendation to not buy S912 for LE is still valid.

With this device tree, the analog audio chip is bypassed and, because of this, the analog input (mic) and output (phones) from Minix Neo U1 are not working anymore. It's correct? If this is the only change, I don't mind and I really don't care because I don't use them anyway.
Yes, analog audio chip is bypassed. Also RTC is not working with generic device tree.

racko Audio capabilities can be limited by analog audio chip which is present in Minix U1 (gives you higher quality analog audio) and all S905X/S912 devices. This is a software limitation, a result of how kernel driver is implemented by Amlogic. If you don't mind losing analog audio, you can try using gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit_OTG_Port device tree on your Minix U1 which would omit analog audio in output path and might result in higher resolution optical out.

AFAIK when an update is available, your box downloads it and installs after a reboot. You also get a Kodi notification when an update is ready.

Adr3nal1n This is not an issue - in the latest build Automatic update should be working (when a new build is released) but Manual updates from LibreELEC settings don't work for now.
-
The only changes in 8.2.1.1 vs 8.2.0.1 are upstream LibreELEC 8.2.1 commits, I did nothing to fix it.

Before you guys ask: 8.2.1.1 build based on LibreELEC 8.2.1 with Kodi 17.6 will be uploaded today evening CET.

It may work to output 24-bit/192KHz audio using HDMI output, with a HDMI Audio Extractor like this?
You need to confirm whether the extractor supports 24/192 as this is not a "standard" for SPDIF.
-
Are you guys using any "fancy" font for your subtitles? I have been watching 23.976 clips for a long time (with subtitles of many kinds) and have not noticed any frame jumps recently. And I am very sensitive to all kind of stuttering.
The only case when there is a frame jump is the "Avatar" sample with forced PGS subtitles.
-
pinoy_ako You have 9082xs chip which will probably be never supported, read this thread: [S905X] Unknown WLAN chip
-
Amlogic doesn't support 24/192 over SPDIF.

and has the opinion that the bug is specific to kszaq's git branch
How can it be specific to my branch if I don't provide any Leia builds?
I think that you shouldn't report Kodi bugs using non-official builds, i.e. community builds with lots out-of-tree patches. Something is considered a bug only if you can reproduce it with some kind of "official" build.

where hacked-up versions of Kodi are 'supported' by their creators
We really try our best.

This bug has been reported before: [BUG] S905X Krypton: Frame skips caused by burned-in forced subtitles
It can also be reproduced on other Kodi platforms (RPi, Windows). I tried to fix it but I have no skills, sorry.
