I have MiniMX with nand version openelec 6.95.3.2
Possible it update to latest libreelec?
    I mean to nand.
Or i need sd card and restore android to nand?

You need to do 2 things:

    • Backup your remote.conf by executing cp /etc/remote.conf /storage/remote.conf.
    • Prepare NAND installation card, edit factory_update_param.aml and delete these lines:

      Code
      --wipe_data
      --wipe_cache

After this you should be able to upgrade with toothpick method. If you followed step 2, you won't lose your data.

    Yes I'm on 7.0.2.1.
Not 100% certain but I'm pretty sure it started with 7.0.1.4 although I recently updated my second box, which I don't use much, so can't go and check without reverting it.

Perhaps others will remember which version it started on? If you remember I removed buffering for local files by adding 'advancedsettings, xml but this didn't help with the 10sec skip problem.

OK, I think I have found the reason. Will be fixed for the next build. Edit: Not yet, unfortunately. :(

    Here are the logs.

Thank you! I will post a test version for you to check in a few days.

What would be really awesome is if le had cast receiver functionality baked in...... But I'm guessing that will never be able to be done?

No, sorry. I don't think that is possible on any LE platform.

Just for information I upgraded my MXQ OTT HD18Q to 7.0.2.3 (from 7.0.2.2) and my DVB usb card is not recognized anymore (no device displayed in http://X.X.X:9981 tvheadend web server)
I was obliged to downgrade to 7.0.2.2.
My DVB USB card is a RTL2832U + R820T Tuner.
I use it to watch TV since Openelec firmware version 6.0.0.2 and I've upgraded firmware many times before with no issue.

Please post a log with working/non-working tuner. Collect the log right after booting, no other activity is needed.

Also K's letest builds for the S805 are the best so far except for the first 10secs or so of some files skipping which I had never experienced before, apparently no one else suffers from this even people with the same board. And for the record sometimes I can't even get the skip function to play the first 10secs! Just annoying but I can live with it. May try a clean install and try it without installing my backup i.e No addons. Tried this before in the past but it didn't make any difference.

You're not the only one! Can you tell since which build the 10sec bug started to happen? Is it 7.0.2.1 and it was OK with 7.0.1.4?

You can try Spotify Addon for Kodi: Spotify for Kodi (read about workaround for RPi, this should also work here) or maybe try to stream audio via AirPlay. I'm not sure if the latter is possible, haven't tried that. There is no way to stream audio from phone to LE over BT.

EDIT : Sorry about original post mate. I just suddenly realised I had done exactly what you'd ask us not to. Sorry mate. My bad

That's OK, moderation is fast. As long as the sellers don't bundle piracy addons they are allowed to install LE, it's free software.

if you have the 1gb version of minimx you must have experienced the problem of low memory & freezing. I'm right?.

    Nope.

Thanks for that however it seems to revert back to <setting id="device_type" value="4" /> after a reboot. I'm booting off a SD card and editting the file in Windows with Notepad++ over a SMB share if any of that affects things. Any suggestions?

I forgot that you have to stop Kodi first. Login over SSH, issue systemctl stop kodi and then edit the file. Save and reboot.

Its seems this problem its commom and user "msfabxda" from hyperion-project have found a workaround to this on odroid C2.
He have post that on Aarch64 compile error · Issue #550 · hyperion-project/hyperion · GitHub
Solution pass to make the following change BUF_SIZE_MAX to 0x1FFFFF in amvideocap.c
    ("https://github.com/hardkernel/linux/blob...videocap.c")

Can you add this change into your system.

    Sure, for the next build.

If it is possible, can we check cec?

I'm not familiar with the new CEC driver yet, in a few days I will setup a thread where we can discuss CEC-related issues and the driver author may be able to help you there.

Just curious: which exact s905 device(s) do you have?

I have one device with eMMC and AP6212 WiFi: MiniMX 1GB and the other one with NAND and Realtek 8188ETV: K1 Plus without DVB. These devices are not my recommendation.

So unless our Genius kszaq can give me one of his magic script commands i am stuck with this Bug.

There is one thing in my to-do list: compile ethernet driver as module while keeping MAC address from u-boot working and this might help your issue. You need to give me a few days, I'm a busy man recently (non-LE related).

Kszaq another question do you know of a way to turn off the led light? You don't have to include it in your build just point me in the right direction.

I don't think it's currently possible. You can switch colours or attach different trigger to LED but you can only turn it either blue or red, not switch it off.

Tried the toothpick method, used to work with all other boxes.
Have to try the reboot to recovery method though... Is that a standart feature of android 5.1? All my s805 boxes didn't have that option out of the box...

You can also try something I described a few posts ago: prepare FAT32-formatted pendrive, copy aml_autosrcipt to it, insert both pendrive and SD card with LE and then try toothpick and/or recovery method.

    Hello again!
So, the problem is with remote now. I have installed LE on sd, it successfully copied the remote.conf from android nand, but the remote is not working neither does cec. I have already copied again the remote.conf myself from android to sd card but without success. The kern.log is different from the usual log so I could upload it?

    Try using this remote.conf: remote.conf

Thanks for this it works great on my MiniMXIII. One little issue I have with it is with CEC. When using LibreELEC on my Intel NUC I can use the channel up and down buttons on my Samsung TV remote to page up and down in file lists but with this it will actually change the TV channel. Is there any way of fixing this or is it just a quirk of the CEC implementation on the box? TIA.

    Edit \\LibreELEC\Userdata\peripheral_data\cec_0000_0000.xml and replace <setting id="device_type" value="4" /> with <setting id="device_type" value="1" />. Reboot.

H264 plays fine until 90-100 Mbps some sample video like Taipei fireworks 100Mbps stops frequently

Well you don't play 100Mbps videos every day, do you?

HEVC and HEVC 10 bit plays very badly (stops every 2seconds)

I can play almost every HEVC test clip I have with no issues. Sample please.

Have you heard any other reports about these boxes ?

I only know that they are very cheap and questionable quality. You may try copying aml_autoscript to a FAT32-formatted pendrive, insert both pendrive and SD card to the box and then try toothpick or recovery method.

sorry kszaq i need to report again, in 003, Fonts folder in /storage/.kodi/userdata/media still not detecting by kodi

This seems to be unrelated to my builds? Does this work in official builds (Generic, RPi)? If it doesn't, you may want to report this in General forum.

PatrickJB In LE the whole system is dedicated for Kodi and unless you have a downloader service or DVB backend running in the background there's not much that can be suspended during playback.

I suppose that the glitch you may be seeing is framerate not switching to 23.976fps from 24fps - in that case there will be a small frame jump every 42 seconds or so. Do you have automatic framerate turned on and "sync playback to display" turned off? It may also be that your displays don't support 23.976fps but I doubt it.

Actually I have not seen frame jumps since framerate automation was patched many versions ago.

So I turned on (by pressing av) and I am entered in the menu.
I put in the box (port usb) the pendrive.
    I chose udisk, then LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0.2.002-update.zip

Insert pendrive first and then turn on with the button pressed.

I even logged to android, rebooted to recovery, but then I do not know what to do next in order to install on sd card without loosing my nand android installation.

Try booting to Android, insert SD card with LE and then reboot to recovery. I have updated the first post to include this.

    7.0.2.003 Work-in-progress build 003
    7.0.2.003

    Commits from 7.0.2.002 to 7.0.2.003: Comparing 7.0.2.002...7.0.2.003 · kszaq/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
    Kernel commits from 7.0.2.002 to 7.0.2.003: Comparing 224b4bc...9ed7c5b · kszaq/linux · GitHub

    Changelog:

    • kernel video decoder (amports) updated to 2016-05-04 Amlogic release for improved HEVC playback and better memory management
    • 4K HEVC playback parameters tweaked to minimize out of memory issues - most of my 4K HEVC samples play fine now!
    • added 4K output patch from wrxtasy - this should fix 4K output (not tested!)
    • tweaked SquashFS kernel options for improved boot time
    • added HPD disable patch (based on Odroid-C2) to fix a boot issue when TV is turned off
    • further small adjustments in Broadcom WiFi driver to improve performance a little bit and fix some suspend issues (not fully fixed yet!)
    • added Bluetooth Audio fix thanks to @dcervi
    • minor improvements in build tree (see GitHub changelog)

This has never happened on my MiniMX. Can you please collect a log when this happens on LE and post it here?

@all with the MiniMXIII what are your cpu temps like under heavy load with LE? Curious to know if it may need some modification to keep it cooler since i plan to hide it behind my TV with poor ventilation.

To lower CPU temperature you can use hotplug CPU governor and/or lower maximum CPU frequency.

i think once we got to recevery menu the previous toothpick aml_autoscript has been reset, cmiiw

Whenever you chose "reboot to recovery" (or execute reboot recovery over SSH/adb) the box reboots and executes aml_autoscript if it's present. My autoscripts resets all previously set variables to default before executing other commands.

I've attached the debug log here, could you please have a look to see anything can be improved, thanks!

Thank you for the log. I'll have a look.

it seems that audio passthrough is not working on live TV (works for movies or tv shows). The sound is supposed to be ac3 5.1 or 2.0.

Is it DD or DD+? I don't think DD+ is working, not yet.

The reboot/suspend issue with WiFi is it just on the Mini MX or generic issue with all boxes?

It is an issue with boxes using Broadcom WiFi (AP6xxx).

Everyone: 7.0.2.003 is up, I'll post changelog and sources later today. The changes are related to 4K HEVC playback, 4K output and there are small performance tweaks: 7.0.2.003

Could you add this patch on future releases, please?

Thank you! I have added this change for the next build.

Also, FYI, power button on MiniMX 1GB correctly sets de device to suspend mode (red light and instant start-up after pressing power again). Shutdown and reboot through power menu also working fine. I've not tested other options.

Actually it does as long as you don't use WiFi. When you start using WiFi, there will be suspend and reboot issues. I have not found a fix yet.

I started buiding 7.0.2.003 release. For those who can't wait, here's a development build which will become 7.0.2.003: 2016-07-13

Audio is normal. And the 540p channels are normal, too.

The same configuration makes no problems on my generic LibreELEC-device (Intel Nuc N2830) and on a Raspberry Pi3 with LibreELEC.

    Anyone an idea

Does the same channel play well if you connect to an external PVR server - like you said you watch channels from TVHeadend server from your Rpi? Can you also provide a log collected after playing a few seconds of that channel? I can't promise I'll help as DVB is a bit black magic to me.
