Or just get a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5, that is capable of 4k HDR without any problems.

I dont have any problems with my 5 Pi 4 and 5 running latest nightly, 1080p mkv (mostly BD-rips) and 4k HDR HEVC, all play just fine on my LG OLED.

Same thing works, 4 or 5 doesnt matter.

Pi 4 or 5, CEC works out of the box with tv's remote (if tv is CEC-compatible like most tv's are today).

What happens if you navigate to the power menu and select Power Off, or map S to a key (that's the shortcut to bring up the Power Off menu)?
I've had no problems switching my Pi 5 off via those routes, and then pressing the Pi5's power button (!) switches it back on again!.

Sadly my exemplar makes voltage whistles (hope that is the right word for Spannungspfeifen). I have very good hearing and that is annoying me.
