Pi 4 or 5, CEC works out of the box with tv's remote (if tv is CEC-compatible like most tv's are today).
Sadly my exemplar makes voltage whistles (hope that is the right word for Spannungspfeifen). I have very good hearing and that is annoying me.
Coil whine?
Its takes less than a minute to do what i do, im not in a hurry...
Thx for the reply...
Would a regular download and placing in update folder still work?
Thats the only way i use.
8GB will do.
- Attempted to install Popcorn time - The addon manager keeps informing me that xbmc.python 2.14.0 could not be found no matter what repo I tried to connect to . Is there any working installation instruction for the new version ?
Thank you .
good to know
yeah ssd will always be better.
I mainly talking about normal thumb drives
I havent booted a Pi from thumbdrive in many years.
Glad it's not just me. Superficially they look like a great solution (IR receiver, integrated fan, nice arrangement with all IO on the back etc.)
However I lost countless hours to HDMI connectivity issues - all ended up being caused by poor quality HDMI extenders in the cases...
I have 1 of 4 working with LE and 1 that i use for a headless Motioninstall, 2 will probably go in the bin.
Have done some tests with reboot and update (from pressing Reboot to updated and fully booted):
Pi5 SDcard = 1 min 35 sec
Pi5 M2 = 50 sec
and
ASRock J5040, 16GB RAM, SSD = 30 sec.
Edit:
Pi4 USB3 SSD = 1 min 5 sec
Pi4 USB2 SSD = 1 min 20 sec
Mine is just fine on latest LE12 nightly.
