i guess i need to patch also the bootloader.
i will post it soon.
not tested, i don't own a x8hp.
worst case, reflash
Another X8h-Plus(Minix firmware 5.1), Shutdown works but I need to remove power plug before I can turn it back on. LE9 kodi 18(X8-H_Plus.arm-9.0-devel-20190202113853-8798984)
i guess i need to patch also the bootloader.
i will post it soon.
need feedback x8hp users.
If your box is flashed with the Finless lollipop rom or the Minix, does it shutdown with the LE9 kodi 18 img?
need to reproduce a kodi 18 image able to shutdown the minix...first and when it's ok i will update the thing
finless splashscreen has too much flair for you??
euh...
the latest Minix firmware (kitkat) with the bootloader taken from finless firmware : minix_x8_x8plus_x8_h_newbootloader_FW9
tested ok and by the way no need to rename anymore "boot_autoscript" to "boot.scr" to be able to boot from SD.
rebuilding a 18.1 image......
tested on x8-h with the kodi 18 final image and indeed the shutdown works as expected.
finless rom is based on the probox ex2 firmware so it's a different bootloader.
no comment on the finless splashscreen. i will mod the latest minix firmware with finless bootloader files.
big tks Klaver7 , ive got now a good basis.
feedbacks are really important and not just what isn't working.
that is exciting. i also have finless installed and only have two issues:
shutdown
sometimes the box freezes when stopping a videoI'm ready to test if wifi is added
it will be added.
soon...
Firmware = Finless lollipop rom 1-0 for the X8h(it works fine on the x8 Plus) , dont know if I can post the link here but I am sure that you know to find it if needed. True Power off = with the kodi power menu or remote control(original) I can shut the box down. So there is no standby or sleep. To turn the box back on I just punch the button on the box and voila it start back up. No need to remove power-plug at any time!
well well well..
I got it.
Thanks a lot for the feedback.
It looks promising.
this did the job. Worked perfectly.
LibreELEC:~ # cp /usr/sbin/installtointernal /tmp
LibreELEC:~ # chmod a+x /tmp/installtointernal
LibreELEC:~ # /tmp/installtointernal
my bad , you're right. I always forget the read-only part.
LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-9.0-devel-20190202105130-8798984 (Kodi 18) = true power off
on what ? a x8, x8plus, x8-h ?
And what do you mean by true power off ?
would like to narrow my "holy power-off" search :p
EDIT :
ok i found it , use the search as once a wise man told me. you're using a x8-plus.
Btw, what android firmware are you using?
Experimental : LibreELEC-X8-X8H.arm-9.1-devel-20190310183315-782f78e.img
!!!!!!! use it on a spare SD !!!!!!!
fix :
- ethernet: set a manual Ip address is possible
- kodi doesn't freeze if a whitelist isn't define and if adjust refresh rate isn't activated.
builded from LE-test (based on LibreELEC-9.x)
And for the x8-hp.
Again, use it on a spare SD.
LibreELEC-X8-H_Plus.arm-9.1-devel-20190311010121-555ace9.img
not yet working : wifi, bluetooth
feedbacks are welcome.
Just the Power off system reboots
Got it also with this image.
And tks for the feedback.

Display MoreThank you Demetris. For supporting these boxes!
I have just updated from 8.2.3 to 9 using your LibreELEC-MXIII_Plus.arm-9.0-devel-20190207022938-5e27f15.
I had the same issue above, regarding system freeze when fast forwarding and stopping a video. But after changing to start/stop and whitelisting some resolutions that fixed it. (thank you datrh)
I cannot installtointernal via ssh.
LibreELEC:~ # installtointernal
sh: installtointernal: Permission denied
But all seems good, even running on a really old sd card lol
try : chmod +x installtointernal (to get the right permission on the file )and then type : installtointernal
did this work for anybody? how did you define a while list.
edit:
decided to go back to 8.2.3 for now.
file:settingssettingslevel-leia.png -> set to "expert mode"
https://kodi.wiki/view/settings/player => adjust display refresh rate -> start/stop
https://kodi.wiki/view/settings/system/display => define a whitelist eg : your tv runs at 1080p 60hz. In the whitelist put :1080p 60hz 1080p 24hz
like this your tv refresh rate will change to 24hz when is needed, limiting the judder.
I used this: LE9.0 remote configs ir-keytable Amlogic devices
remote.conf : Create remote.conf from scratch
if you're using a x8/x8-x check #1. this is the way to do it .
the ir-keytable is for the s905 as am-remote is not configured, not available in the std image
Went back to 18 and power off works again.
Btw can you start the minix using the remote only?
With the x8-h if i shutdown the minix, i need to remove the power plug and put it back again.
And i cannot start it from the remote.
