These are still test builds but they are working rather well with the occasional drop or skip often cause by the info overlay but other than that it's making headway in the right direction.

Krypton of course.

I'm currently using johngalt builds which are working very well with the nougat kernel.
-
I can confirm 7.0.312k was the best build for me too.
-
no I don't think so 7.0.3012k is using a nougat kernel and 8.0.2b is using a marshmallow kernel.
-
2re good answer well I'm trying testing 3 and I'll report my finding if any.
-
Hi johngalt this is probably a dumb question but would you recommend using 8.0.2 - testing 3? or should I stick with 8.0.2 testing 1? which is working very well for me.
-
Hi is this build 8.0.2b still using the MM kernel?
-
Uploaded a new build, and updated the download link in OP to point to github releases (no longer using an ad-ridden upload site). All changelogs between releases will also be posted there. If more users who had 4k output issues on nougat report this is working well for them, I think we could be close to making these "standard" builds
Changes:
- kernel: Partially revert experimental buffer changes to reduce artifacts and improve frame skip situation.
- kernel: Revert a cache change for "less memory" devices that negatively affected frame skips on my 1G ram box -- LE is light enough.
- kernel: Fix 4k h264 video (needs more testing).
- kernel: Fix 4k video output compatibility issue introduced in the franken-nougat kernel -- needs more testing by users with 4k output issues on nougat.
- kodi: bump to 21c2dba (kszaq)
- projects/S905: use "null" display mode only when needed (kszaq)
- SMBFile: Remove year old workaround (kszaq)
The "Configfiles" samba share maps to /storage/.config. Add the echo command in OP to an "autostart.sh" file in that folder.
Thanks johngalt, back on krypton thanks to you the latest test build seems to be working very well all round on my s905x 1gb ram 8gig rom for micro sd card.
-
I switched from 8.0.1j so I had to.
-
Did you do a clean install on the SD card? Because I tried to use the update process, from an earlier version.Yeah I did a clean install.
-
I didn't replace the dtb.img file and left it as is and that worked for me.
-
Sadly this is what I get on my display with 'K', downgraded to 'J' and all is fine. I first get the normal LibreELEC logo, and this appears when it tries to start Kodi.
I still have access to the box through SSH.
Made sure to also put the gxl_p212_2g.dtb file in the update folder.
Box: Sunvell T95M
TV: Vizio M60-D1
Does anyone have a suggestion on what I could do to get it to work? I have a bunch of TV channel all "jerky" and I was hoping to use "K" to fix this problem.I had the same issue first time round so I tried again and left the original device tree and then it worked.

I've just switched from 8.0.1j to 7.0.3.012k and 7.0.3.012k is way way better for me no drops and skips at all

8.0.1i seems very good the only problem I have is the frame rate switching when playing youtube videos one after another using play all the video freezes and then after a couple seconds (like 10 to 20) unfreezes and the working status stays ghosted on the screen and flickers.

8.0.1i re-uploaded with fixed SPDIF sound.Damn that was fast, thanks Kszaq

LibreElec 8.0.1g by far the best one yet still a couple hiccups but I must do some further testing and upload my findings but thanks again as always for all the hard work from everyone involved.

Can confirm this, and Atmos and DTS X is also working fine.
Some miner bug if you let a movie play to the end. Hangs for 30-40 sec before ending.
Nice work!!!I can confirm that the audio is working fine, I can also confirm the same 30-40 seconds delay happening before the end of a video file. Good job as always
