Amazon Prime video working with Libreelec 7.90.beta1 on wetek hub

This just in: With the beta1 release, amazon prime video works with my amazon.de prime account in up to 1080p and 5.1 surround on boxes that come with the neccessary DRM support in the hardware. To my knowledge, the wetek hub and the wetek play 2 have this.

Steps I did:

activate "unknown sources" for addons in settings
install the kodinerds repo from binary-repo/repository.kodinerds_RPi2-1.0.3.zip at master · kodinerds/binary-repo · GitHub
install the latest inputstream.adaptive addon from kodinerds repo
configure the maximum bandwidth for the inputstream addon to something appropriate for the internet connection (I entered 50000000 for 50 MBit/s)

ssh to the box and run (from: [Kodi 17 +] Inputstream HowTo + AddOns für Kodi 17 ab Beta 6 +, aktuelle Git builds < Update 10.12.2016 - Die angepinnten Themen - Kodinerds.net - Deutschsprachiges Forum zum Kodi Entertainment Center)

install the sandman79 repo from repository.sandmann79.plugins-1.0.2.zip
install the "amazon vod" video addon
configure the amazon vod addon to use the inputstream addon
login with your amazon credentials

Be advised that you enter amazon login credentials to a third party addon - consider the risks before you do so.

How about for countries other than DE?

I have no way to test that. There are two addons in the sandman79 repo, one is specific to Germany, the other is supposed to also work in other regions. The region is selected in the addon configuration.

Further testing shows that with Android, all videos are decrypted properly. See Xiaomi 4K HDR 'Mi Box' (Android TV set-top box) where wrxtasy describes his solution. It works for me with the wetek hub and Android M.

With LE, only videos that are using an older encryption can be decrypted. I did not notice it at first, because the series I am binging on currently all use the older encryption.

In Android Kodi 18 can use Android DRM Framework = all DRM solutions provided with your box. In LE we don't have any official DRM support, unfortunately.

Do we know which videos use the older encryption? I am currently using LibreELEC 8.0.1 Kodi 17.1 on Raspberry Pi 3 with Amazon VOD installed and set-up, and ran the bash line code to install the widevine DRM thing. It installed correctly but I still cannot watch the content. Any ideas or work around known right now? Does anyone else have this still working?? I'm in the US by the way.
