[RPi5] LE13 - DRM Prime hardware decoding and D2P makes PVR fail

  • I stumbled upon an "interesting" bug that didn't exist in LE12:

    • 4K TV (2160p, HDR)
    • Kodi GUI set to 4K resolution so that photos appear sharp
    • DRM Prime hardware acceleration enabled, with D2P
    • 4K movies (with and without HDR) play back perfectly
    • 1080p resolutions marked as opt-in so that Kodi downscales the resolution to 1080p when playing non-4K content, letting the TV handle the upscaling from 1080p to 2160p (this also works great)

    When playing a live TV channel (Enigma2 PVR client, VU+ server) OR a TV recording, only a small section of the TV image (the top-left quarter) appears, blown up to fill the entire screen. The image then freezes immediately, though the audio continues to play.

    If I switch from D2P to EGL, live TV and recordings work, but 4K content no longer plays.

    If I disable hardware acceleration, everything runs, but 4K content stutters.

    If I set the GUI resolution to 1080p, everything works (PVR and 4K content), but unfortunately, picture slideshows then run only in 1080p.

    Hardware = RPi5 with 4GB RAM
