Android on NAND, Libreelec on mSD

  • Hello, I have a wetek openelec box. I just replaced Openelec and flashed Libreelec to NAND and all is working fine. My question is, can I run Libreelec from mSD and Android from NAND (or visa versa)? I last played around with the box last year and am rusty as hell and have forgotten most of the terminology. Is enigma2 the same as android? What is the best Android OS to run? I have the following files/zips below, and don't want to brick the thing as I play around with it so just looking for confirmation please. I have looked in this forum and others but seem to be going round in circles.

    Libreelec for NAND- "LibreELEC-WeTek_Play.arm-7.0.2.zip"
    Libreelec for mSD - "LibreELEC-WeTek_Play.arm-7.0.2.img.gz"
    Enigma2 for NAND - "HDMU_15912_2659_NAND_kodi16_R@xOne_20160919.zip"
    Enigma2/Android for mSD - ?????????????????????

Can someone tell me which is best to run from NAND and from mSD or does it matter? I can figure out how to flash to NAND but need some info on how to get it to mSD (is it Disk formatter-disk imager-write file to mSD-pop in box and boot?) If so where can I find the files? Is everything I need in the download section on this site, i.e. Libreelec & Enigma2(or android)?

I am still searching the forums so any information is appreciated.

Edit: Am I being thick and don't need Enigma2? Can I just install an Android "kodi-16.1-Jarvis-armeabi-v7a.apk" to the NAND of the Wetek by pushing it? Then use Libreelec on mSD?

  • You can run Android for WeTek Play in NAND and LibreELEC from SD-card. Just make sure to use good class 10 or faster SD-card.
You can find Android builds for WeTek Play (it is called WeTek OS) from WeTek forum. Here's the latest official release: WeTek OS 1.1.7 for WeTek Play [14/03/2016] - WeTek Community Forum

To flash LibreELEC to an SD-card use LibreELEC USB-SD Creator. You can find it at downloads – LibreELEC. Choose the desired release for WeTek Play and follow the instructions.

Enigma 2 is another Linux-based OS focused towards Live TV. You can also run it from SD-card.
