LibreELEC 12 Virtual OVA and Icecast2

  • Hello,

I want to install Icecast2 server/client on Libreelec. Libreelec version 12.2.0 is virtualized in esxi.

I can't perform updates via SSH and there is no plugin.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello,

I'm using LE 12.2 virtual OVA on ESXi and streaming HDMI over Wi-Fi to a video projector with no sound.

I want to export it to a server (icecast, darkice, darwin).

How can I do this? I haven't seen anything in the corresponding plugins.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

Could you please provide some further explanation? I didn't understand these points:

NB: The Virtual OVA exists for internal test and devevlopment and we expect audio and video rendered in the ESXi browser client or vmware fusion/workstation/player. Users are welcome to experiment with other use-cases, but those are also self-supported.

    Hello,
I'm looking for a solution to export audio from LibreELEC.

    I've read about:
exporting with VLC via HTTP request
    exporting with Icecast/Ices.

But how do I do this?
    There's no SSH installation access.

    I'm a bit lost.

    Thank you for your help.

  • You can install the Docker add-on and then pull an Icecast2 container, e.g. https://hub.docker.com/r/pltnk/icecast2 - we have no idea how it is configured or whether the end-result is useable. The main idea behind Docker support is that users can install and support whatever they like (emphasis on the user supporting themselves).

LE does not have package management. It does have Docker. Docker runs containers, which provide apps to the OS. You can install containers that provide the apps you are looking for. NB: VLC server is not compatible with V4L2/GBM graphics.
