I have an X96 mini tv box with android 7.1.2, 2gb ram , 16 gm rom, and would like to try out libre on a sd card.
I have read about the procedure (writing the img to the sd card using LibreELEC USB-SD Creator, and adding the dtb to the root of the card, then with the toothpick in the av port, plugged in the power cable), but cannot find the img files or the dtb files. There are some versions of the amlogic images (like the latest AML-S905X-CC (LePotato) LibreELEC-AMLGX.aarch64-12.0.2-lepotato.img.gz) in the download section, but no dtb file. I am not looking for the latest img, with the latest version of Kodi, even one with Kodi 17,18 or 19 would be fine, since i use it only for playing files off a usb attached drive.
I decided to give Libre a try, since this box sometimes skips frames/audio when it plays video files, even from it's own internal memory. It's quite annoying. I did try different advancedsettings.xml for kodi, some worked better than other, but none resolve the issue. I've also installed and tested VLC, Nova PLayer, Mpv, and the player that came with the box (video player), still the issue is there. Did also changed the usb drives. no luck.
So maybe Libre, with a minimal OS, will try it and see.
