Raspberry Pi Legacy Tools Add-on

  • I had problems installing the new RPi3-addons via GUI (error was something like "wrong addon structure"). So I installed the RPi4/RPi5-addon virtual.rpi-legacy-tools and just replaced the file _GPIO.so in folder /storage/.kodi/addons/virtual.rpi-legacy-tools/lib/RPi with the one from your new ZIP-file. Now rpi-gpio works on my 3B-device.

LuRu, thank you very much for the quick help.

  • I am glad that it works, but I did not find any problem in the structure of the add-on.
I believe that the installation problem was caused by the fact that the previous (incompatible) version of the add-on was not completely uninstalled (preferably with a subsequent restart).
But I could be wrong, of course.
I would be very happy if someone (who owns an RPi2 or RPi3) could do a test that would shed some light on this.
