Cache settings

    • LibreELEC 12.0.0 / Kodi 21.0-Omega
    • RPi 4 / 2G
    • Database on local NAS
    • AEON NOX Silvo 10.0.3

    Someone can explain to me how exactely work the cache, because when i scroll for exemple artist liste (11683 Artists) the RAM is fully quickly just befor the crash obviously.

    • Buffer Mode: Buffer all network filesystems...
    • Memory Size: 20 MB
    • Read Factor: 4x
    • Chunk Size: 128 KB
  • Try the default skin. If the problem remains, create a swap file:

  • The cache is only used when playing large files such as videos. It works/helps not when navigating menus are slowly because of big directory listings.

    If you get in memory trouble during library listing it's mostly an issue of the skin and/or one of the included components/plugins (some weather add-ons for example). Thats the reason for the recommendation of Da Flex to double check with the default skin.
