No option for another display

So I recently installed this on an old laptop in hopes of getting away from my Android TV I got it all installed but as soon as I plugged it in there was no display to my TV I tried closing the lid restarting it I couldn't get anything to work My laptop has two outputs a VGA and display for it I am currently using the display port with a HDMI adapter for my TV, does anyone know how to force the laptop to display on an external display or even clone displays?
