LibreElec settings screen skinning

  • Hi, I develop a Kodi skin called Copacetic. https://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=320

I don't have a LibreELEC box, but I've had a request from a user asking if the LibreElec settings window can be skinned to match the theme of the rest of the skin. Is this possible? As I understand it, the settings screen is an addon: service.libreelec.settings.

Is it possible to theme this addon, similar to addons such as service.upnext or script.skinshortcuts?

  • I'm fuzzy on the reasons why, but I don't think it's currently possible. It would be nice to have though. NB: We build an OVA image for vmware Workstation/Fusion (or ESXi) or Oracle VirtualBox to support GUI dev work without the need for real hardware.

  • Thanks chewitt - is it the case currently that whatever skin you have activated, you see an Estuary-type experience when you are within this addon?

From a brief look at the service.libreelec.settings on github, I'm guessing that the styling is actually dictated within the addon in the resources/skins/default folder and that this has a similar look/feel to Estuary as that is the default Kodi skin. As opposed to pulling settings from a skin itself. https://github.com/LibreELEC/serv…s/skins/Default

Thanks for the info re. GUI development, I'll keep this in mind for the future.
