Raspberry Pi 5 Audio Passthrough

  • Hi,

I have tested LibreELEC in the past on various old iterations of the Raspberry Pi, but I recently picked up a Pi 5 (4GB) and installed LE using the official imaging app for Windows.

I have the Pi connected to my AV receiver via HDMI (official raspberry pi Micro HDMI cable) and my sound works fine.

I have Audio passthrough turned on but I don't see any options in the settings to select the supported audio standards (e.g. Dolby, atmos etc.). Is this correct?

I can play 5.1 audio and my AV receiver get 5.1 audio (PCM) but no dolby passthrough.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I have an extensive SACD library that i ripped in DSF through my good old Oppo BDP105. All these files are now on my Synology NAS. I WOULD LOVE to play these DSD/DSF files, multichannel, to my Anthem AVM70 sound processor (Dynaudio Atmos System).
For space reasons I had to remove the Oppo, sure that I’d have found a proper “all digital“ solution. But up to now… nothing. I was expecting Roon for Anthem, but never arrived. I was planning to purchase an had-hoc Mac Mini to use Audirvana… but i’m now considering a RPi5 way.

What would you advise, so to bitstream the DSF multichannel files to my Anthem? (Possibly not LPCM converted… otherwise… amen).
