Sporadically ethernet connection lost; a lot of AER errors on PCI bridge

Hello everyone,

i use a Dell Optiplex 3000 TC with Intel Pentium Silver N6005 and Libreelec and a TVH as the backend. Basically it works fine, but from time to time the built-in Ethernet adapter stops working. At the time of occurrence there are no useful dmesg log entries. But there are many AER errors on the PCI bridge. After a restart everything works again. Sometimes everything works for days (>48 hours), sometimes it crashes after 30 minutes.

I suspect that the AER errors are related to the Ethernet adapter failing, but I don't know for sure. I tried some settings in the BIOS, nothing helped... Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Maybe a hardware failure? What can I do to check this?

Google research on "pcieport aer corrected error received" hints at power management on the NIC device, and a few forum posts and such recommendations adding "pcie_aspm=off" to kernel boot params in /flash/syslinux.cfg .. remount the partition rw using "mount -o remount,rw /flash" .. there are other options to perhaps experiment with once you start reading things.

sorry, i'm not so familiar with Linux systems. Thank you very much for the tip! I've set the mentioned kernel parameter. Looks good at first, at least there are no more errors to be seen.
I'll test it out over the next few days and report back here.

after some use in the last few days, there are no errors in dmesg nor any failures. Everything works perfectly now. Thanks again for the quick support!
