Many low-end network cards no longer work with newer linux kernels and in turn will not work with LE. There are some other posts that recommend ethernet bridges be used. There has been confusion about what devices work with which versions of LE. Here's a website that shows USB network adapters along with the versions of kernels that support them. If you're looking for a card that will work with a specific version of LE, check the kernel version of LE, and test a card that works with that version. link
