Dell Precision 4600 booting from USB no HDMI

    I have a Dell Precision 4600 which I thought I might use as a media centre.

    It installs and boots ok with LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-11.0.1.img.gz and runs Kodi, but there is no option to use the hdmi output in the System Settings.

    I read a few threads and realised xrandr is no longer an option, so tried

    getedid create

    and rebooted. This did not help

    any ideas what to try next, or is the laptop just too old...

    BTW 10.0.4 and the Generic legacy images refused to Install with Xorg errors
